So obviously I want to be engaged but no sign yet. I used to have my "Want to get engaged" whinge with my friend who was in the same situation until she got engaged last week! Yeah I was jealous but I was happy for her. Now though everytime she bring up her wedding she keeps saying "Oh I hope your not mad" "I hope your ok with it" Its really beinging to annoy me, what does she think im gonna do stand up and start singing "It Should have been Me" Vicar of Dibley style! xxx

Just tell her you''ve actually come to terms with waiting, and that you''re excited with the prospect of enjoying life without the stress of wedding mania.

Obviously she''s a close enough friend that she knows how much it annoys you to be a LIW, and she''s just sensitive to your longing for your own engagement. Perhaps she was a LIW too, with a bad case of LIWitis by the time he proposed? So she feels your pain, and doesn''t want you to feel like she''s rubbing her plans in your face.

I think the previous poster was correct...tell her that you''ve come to terms with where you are at, and you are genuinely happy for her and are sharing in the excitement of her plans.

I agree with the other posters - it''s probably coming from a good place and with good intentions - so talking to her about it is probably best. I think it''s clear that she cares about you and has compassion for the LIW situation
