One online news source I've gone to for years is NPR.
I've never had this problem before ...

A few days ago I listened to one of their podcasts for the first time.
Now the friggin window won't go away.
It's annoying and takes up space.

Here's a screen capture.
How do I close it?
I've tried clicking on everything I can see, including that OPEN thingie.
FWIW I'm on an iMac with the current system software.

Have you tried restarting your computer?

Thanks Missy.
I tried that, but no workie. ;(

GRR.

Have you cleared your cache on your browser?

Thanks.
Maybe that's what I'll have to do if I can't find someone who knows NPR's magical secret settings.

I was hoping to avoid that because it deletes every cookie, so you have to relog into everything and I'm good at forgetting passwords.

Thanks.
I'm afraid that's what I'll have to do.

Yeah, it's a real PITA and I hate doing it too!

FWIW I tried something.

I clicked on Contact Us at the bottom of NPR's homepage.
Then, clicked on the menu choice of "Technical Assistance".

There, I gave my email address and asked how to fix this.

... We'll see if that works.

How about the iOS equivalent of Windows task manager (when you click CTRL+alt+del) then select & close whatever that one is?

Does this happen in private or incognito mode?

Sorry, I've no clue whatsoever about the PC world.

Again, sorry I've no idea what those two "modes" are.

BTW, I'd like to get in touch with you and Kroshka but I've lost your email, and I've also lost the password for the email address that you had for me.

Is there a way to get in touch?

Do you think you need to uninstall something? So weird... I’ve never had an issue like this with my Mac

Sorry, I've no clue whatsoever about the PC world.

it’s basically a built-in tool/application that shows you every window that is open/running on your machine, how much memory an application is using., whether an application is ‘running’ (normal) or ‘not responding’ (locked up). From there, you can close it.

Possibly a push notification: go to settings then notifications and you can select site names and disable them or you can disable them globally.
Google "mac disable push notifications 2019" for more help.
