Wow. Just wow. I don''t want to give it away for anyone who hasn''t seen it yet, but did anyone see that coming???

No! Not giving it away either other than to say I was shocked!

Shocked and sad! What a dramatic season end!

See.. I figured out after about 5 minutes of "John Doe" who that was. It made me really sad.

I read spoilerfix.com and they had a different idea for where that storyline would be going.

I still think that 1 person will die and 1 person will be alive next season.

Most of the episode was fairly boring, but man did they have a climactic end!

Me too...as soon as the girl he pushed out of the way said he was an average looking guy standing next to her, I just knew.

zOMG stupid cliff hangers!!! Aaaack!

I thought the episode was very well done. I didn''t see John Doe coming at all.

I did initially, but then I''d sort of forgotten by the time it was actually revealed. There was a lot of yelling in my apt.

"WOW" is right!!!

I have to say, I knew who John Doe was right away, and I was like "nooooooo!!!"

BTW, who noticed Izzy''s ring in the dream sequence where she''s sitting on the beach with Denny?!?!

I noticed the ring. It looked like a piece of glass to me - not one bit of life or fire in it.

I thought the 2 hour finale was totally unnecessary. The entire show was boring except for the last what 5 minutes? At that point I literally sat on the couch like

I agree that one will be dead and the other alive next season.

I didn''t see John Doe coming at all - I was completely shocked. DH and I were watching (I got him into the show) and we both screamed when we realized.
I figured they would end it like that with Izzie though.

I think one will live and one will die, but I''m just not sure which one is which. I still can''t believe it. And we have to wait another 4 months to find out who lives and who doesn''t (or if they both don''t

)

I''m guessing that the person who was not in the elevator is the person who died (because that person is already on ''the other side'') and the person who was inside the elevator will either get out of the elevator (and die at that moment) or stay in the elevator and survive.

Spoken like a true PSer, Madam B!

I agree, it didn''t have a whole lot of life to it. But I loooooved the design! I think it was a cushion (maybe 5 carats or so but that''s just a guess) with smaller side stones of some sort? Looked like a platinum setting with claw prongs. Yum!!!
18.gif

I think the side stones were pears, about a half carat each. Funny: When I saw the ring, I thought "Leon Mege".

Wow the last part of that finale was intense! I figured out the John Doe thing before they revealed it and was glad that the storyline went there vs. the whole Army thing. That wasn''t believable to me.

I agree that the person in the elevator will live and the one on the "other side" of the elevator will not.

I didn''t even think of it that way!

I was thinking the same thing. Expecially since the person in the elevator seemed to be feeling them trying to resuscitate.

Did anyone totally lose it with the outfit on the person in the elevator was revealed?

ETA: The ring had pear sides.

That''s how I thought of it too. The person in the elevator seemed to still be hearing them trying to resuscitate and it was almost like they were torn whether or not to stay on the elevator or get off and join the one outside the elevator. (I don''t want to ruin it for people who didn''t watch yet, so how long do you think we have to wait before saying their names? This is getting confusing lol).

To me, I also think the one outside the elevator is gone (as sad as that makes me

). Its the one who was inside who I''m not sure about.

Oh, and Izzie''s ring - it was gorgeous!!! Yeah, it didn''t sparkle much and looked like glass (so not nearly as pretty as it could be) but could you imagine if it DID? The design was beautiful!

Ah, that''s a good idea. I thought the person in the elevator was dead (as in on the way up) and it stopped to pick up another passenger also on the way up. Elevator occupant''s facial expression was difficult to read. I saw it was surprise & horror that a good friend was also on the stairrrway to hea..ven (sorry for any offense to Led Zeppelin fans).

I didn''t see it coming and was shocked by the brutal nature of the injuries.

Since it''s been publicized that both are leaving the show, it''s sort an anticlimax to have one of them return next season.

i knew John Doe right away...hubby didn''t believe me. I had heard he''s leaving the show so my guess he will die. But I was very sad they way it all went down. rumors were that izzy was leaving and then rumors came out that she wasn''t so I''m hoping she makes it and is back in the fall. 2 hours way to long for the final IMO and I love the show...hate the cliffhangers
14.gif

I think the person in the elevator will live.

I would be more sad about John Doe dying if he had been in this season at all... But his storylines pretty much vanished this season, so it wasn''t as sad to me.

Did anyone else hate Mer/Der''s "wedding"? I totally pegged them for the type to go to city hall, so that would have been great, and believable. But if they don''t ever get it legally done I''ll be irritated.

I didn''t see the John Doe coming at all. I was like "Why is she screaming?" I thought it was good though. I would think that George is dead and Izzy will live. Just because I read Kathering Heigl wanted to stay, and she''s a big star in the show, so I can''t see them letting her go if she wants to stay. As for George, well he has had NOTHING in this season, so it wouldn''t surprise me if he wanted off the show anyways. I don''t see George as a big movie star though, so I would say, "what is he leaving for?" But maybe these are just all groundless rumors.

I was wondering if Izzy''s contract was up for renewel lol... Maybe that is why they did not let us know if she lived or died?
3.gif
All depends on the negotiations...
11.gif

It was pretty crazy...but they haven''t had anything about the new Army person/non elevator occupant (haha!) on there in FOREVER.

OU-I hated it too! I mean, COME ON. Those two are never going to just get it over with and stop dragging it out! Lame.

And yes, when I saw her outfit...man it reminded me of that season finale which I am STILL not over!

Well, we knew that that was going to happen to both of them, we just didn't know how. They did a good job of keeping it a bit surprising despite all the information available to the public.

I interpreted it similarly (though I saw the elevator as symbolizing death, not the hallway), but I was thinking that they both had a choice. Step out of the elevator to live, step in to die.

here''s a blog from an entertainment writer and his spin..(makes sense to me)

And if I had to put money on that, I''d wager that George is dead and Izzie lives. Shonda told Ausiello that one of the reasons George was so absent this season was that she didn''t want it to be as noticeable when he was gone for a long stretch in the finale. Whether it was really as by design as that -- and given the way Izzie''s condition evoked Mariette Hartley in the season premiere, I''m guessing there was some plan in place for this from the start -- the show seemed to get along just fine not giving Knight anything to do, where Izzie has always been one of Shonda''s favorite characters to write for. Izzie drives me nuts, but she seems more integral to Shonda''s vision for the show.

Interview with Shonda Rhimes:

Rumors have been swirling all year that Katherine and TR wanted off the show. The season ends with both their characters'' lives hanging in the balance. Purely coincidental?
SHONDA RHIMES: I don''t think there are any coincidences. I think Katherine''s stated publicly that she''s happy to stay. I think that there have been lots of rumors about TR, but TR''s never said anything. Take from it what you will.

Do you know which one of them lives and which one of them dies?
RHIMES: Yes. And I don''t know that you should be saying "which one of them lives and which one of them dies." I know what happens to the characters.

Have you shared this information with Katherine and TR?
RHIMES: [Crickets, then…] I don''t want to answer that. I don''t want to talk about my private conversations with the actors.

Will Katherine be putting her name back in the Emmy race this season?
RHIMES: You know, I don''t know. I think she did beautiful work. I think she always does beautiful work.

Did Meredith and Derek really get married last night?
RHIMES: Their wedding was a Post-it note. We had a big series of discussions about it in the writers'' room. I felt very strongly — very very strongly — that the last thing Meredith Grey would do is put on a wedding dress and walk down an aisle. It just felt wrong to me, Meredith being Meredith. And the Post-it wedding will have big reverberations next season.

Will we still get an official wedding at some point?
RHIMES: I think they feel it is an official wedding.

I thought it was ironic that the team were fighting and freaking out over how to "stop George from enlisting" while they were working on his poor torn body.
