No, it would be great to have more public restrooms.Tbh that was a funny article to read ("wild peeing" is a new term for me) and I'm pretty sure people won't stop doing it even if these urinals were around.

Yay. I think it's a great idea, although I'd like to know about the specific problem they are solving. If they are to replace exiting urinals (like the one pictured) then definitely. If they are to combat people (men) peeing in places they shouldn't, I'd prefer that they didn't pee in places they shouldn't but if that behaviour can't be changed, then this is a better alternative. Could be quite comical if they attracted too many bees while the gents were about their business.

Well. I wish males - and I say males because these are urinals only, indicating males are the bulk of the problem - would develop some consideration and decency and stop peeing in public. I realize that all the wishful thinking in the world doesn't add up to it actually happening, so in lieu of better behavior this seems to be a more appealing option. I'd rather see that and be able to go around it than smell a stank area and realize too late that I walked through it.

If I recall, Massachusetts spent a ton on public outside bathrooms, which costed I believe 25 or 50 cents. I can't remember anymore.

Most of the time they were locked because people used them to have sex in or, in a few cases, they would spread human waste all over them. yeah so.. great idea on paper.

I was in Amsterdam or somewhere in Italy and there were a few pay public bathrooms that totally cleaned itself by computer and the sign said DRY, well it wasn't dry but it was VERY CLEAN, and I thought this was a great idea but have not seen it since.

Why should men get special urination stations while women continue to have to find a public restroom should the need arise? You know, like normal adults.

Instead, I vote everyone be kept at home or put in diapers until they're sufficiently potty-trained.

+1...feeling like "if life gives you lemons (public urination), make lemonade (GreenPees)"

Didn't know bees are attracted to that scent?

Still remember that odor whenever I went in and out of the Orange Line...

No joke! I would love to check out these...

Off the topic but I personally don't think bathrooms at Schiphol are all great. Lack of ventilation or something...

We have those see-through toilets in North Carolina and I don’t really like to use them it’s kind of unsettling to think that suddenly the glass could go clear. The ones I’ve been in were In a bar lounge. Several of the stalls weren’t functioning correctly so the glass stayed clear. No thank you

Oh boy that's terrifying and I never knew that they existed.

Use the same money to round up the public urination jerks and make them clean the piss as their punishment. Each infraction = four weekends of piss cleaning duty. Problem should work itself out.

Maybe I'm just extremely close-minded but this is just gross. I don't think serial wild pee people are going to care where they urinate so if there is a tree or bush closer then they will use that instead.

I gotta vote no for this one but I like the bathrooms in Italy that were mentioned upthread. At least then I wouldn't have to walk by some guy with his stuff out peeing into a receptacle. Can you imagine how awkward for people and children walking by?! :oops2:

The easiest way to solve this problem would be to ban the sale of beer! :eek-2: :eek-2: :eek-2: :lol-2:

cracking idea!

HI:

When this doesn't work can anyone just suggest; piss up a rope? No?

Sorry, I am thinking of the day when we can just have whirled peas.

cheers--Sharon

In the States I have never seen men peeing in public, here, it’s the norm, and in many restrooms women have to walk by the urinals to get to the stalls. I found it amusing when I first arrived because at home we were having the gender bathroom wars. (Which cost NC a bundle due to cancelled venues).
But receptacles seem weird and awkward.

I think anyone doing their business in public should just get a ticket for it. Then they'll learn. It's ignorant behavior and no one needs to see that.

We have those in Paris and they work rather well. I recently had to use one (3 y/old telling me "now, or it's in my pants").

I was prepared to walk away and have her pee into the gutter, but the cabin was all stainless steel and the whole thing is automatically cleaned top to bottom after each use. No unpleasant smell, nothing icky. And I am extremely picky.

It's nothing I'd use outside emergencies, but I couldn't say anything regarding hygiene and cleanliness.

Thanks Kipari, then I was probably in Paris that trip, I thought it was a great thing given how odious most public bathrooms are here in the USA.

I wish I could have liked your post ten times @seaurchin

I think here in France you can get a ticket. Its around 60€ in Paris and can be significantly more (I read up to 450€) in tourist /party hot spots where the pee damages ancient buildings.

But, yeah, basically what @seaurchin said: adults should have sufficient impuls control regardless of gender.
