Found some Greek yogurt at Costco that has 23g of protein per serving (1C). The problem is it is completely unflavored. Ick! Any tips on what I can add in? I added some fruit, but that just made it taste like chunks of fruit in unflavored yogurt.

Honey!

The taste of plain Greek yogurt varies by brand. Some are sour compared to others.

For flavor, try adding cinnamon, vanilla bean paste or honey.

This one is really sour. I think the honey idea is great, I'll try that tomorrow. I tried cinnamon but it didn't do much.

Lemon curd (do you have a trader joes nearby? their lemon curd is AMAZING!), then I either scoop it onto graham crackers or break up the graham cracker on top and eat it that way. Is it the fage brand? YUM! My favorite. I love the tart yogurt with the tart lemon curd. Crap. I need to go get some now.

Greek yogurt provides great protein bang for the buck. The flavored ones have a lot of sugar so I like to add my own flavor.

For healthy texture and flavor, you can add chopped nuts or seeds. Flax seeds, almonds and walnuts are all very nutritious.

What brand are you eating? I find Chobani and Fage aren't sour compared to some others I've tried. I frequently eat them alone without anything added.

A couple of handfuls of muesli, frozen berries and a tiny bit of honey.
I just checked the Traders Joe lemon curd, 1 tablespoon = 100 calories.
Vanilla bean paste sounds yum.

Honey, granola (I actually like Kashi Go Lean Crunch or whatever it is--even more protein!), fresh fruit, cinnamon, preserves....

I've used it in recipes before too. Savory stuff, not dessert type things.

I usually put jam in it (mainly strawberry or raspberry). Not the healthiest option but at least you can control the amount of sugar.

I use it in cooking as well. It's great in Indian inspired dishes especially curries!

add garlic and mint and eat it as a savoury dip. Also goes really well with lamb dishes and things like wraps and as a salad dressing...

I like plain Fage with honey and cereal mixed in, and I also buy the Chobani flavored yogurts (cherry, strawberry, and blueberry are my favorites). I first tried Fage after reading a thread here, and it took a while to get used to. I felt like I was eating straight sour cream, which didn't sit right. I just kept adding things until I found combinations I liked.

I add no-sugar added jam (like polaner all fruit, except from tj's) for my baby's yogurt. She loves it! I think it is very similar to the stuff at the bottom of the individual yogurts that you have to mix together, except this way you can better control the amount. It does cut the sour.

Oh, and you can try using it as sour cream too!

I was just coming in to suggest the no sugar jam. That's what I do. So, it cuts the sour taste without adding sugar! It's great.

I add some frozen berries to it in the morning and then eat it for an afternoon snack. With fruit added I don't mind if it tastes a little sour still, but I love sour foods in general.

Exactly! It's like I'm eating sour cream...

Thank you for all of the suggestions! It is the Fage brand, from Costco. I can't imagine that there are other brands that are even more sour. I have some honey and granola to mix in. I love the lemon curd idea, sounds yummy (but high in calories)!

Okay, just mixed it all in. It's now solidly in the "no bad" category. I could probably use more honey, but I'd rather try to get used to it with this amount...which is one of those little individual containers, the kind you'd see with the little jams at a restaurant. Yep, definitely edible this way.

I was also thinking that this stuff would be great in cupcake batter. I've used vanilla greek yogurt before and it makes for amazingly moist cupcakes...this would accomplish the same thing while adding a ton of protein.

I usually do honey or fruit and splenda.

Greek yogurt is my absolute favorite yogurt!
honey is out of sight with it.
i often substitute it for sour cream!
anything and everything with Greek yogurt......don't forget Tzatziki - Cucumber Yogurt Dip

I really like the idea of using it as a sour cream replacement!

We go through a lot of homemade yogurt in this house because my kids hate milk!
For each cup they add a couple Tbs of granola, chocolate chips, crushed cookies, pretzels etc.
For dessert: 1 Tb peanut butter, 1 Tb cherry pie [or apple] filling or 1 ts of pudding mix.

My favorites:
Pumpkin pie spice + honey.
1 Tb chopped almonds, 1Tb agave and a drop or two of almond extract.
1 ts maple syrup+1Tb chopped nuts--crazy yummy.
1/4 C of any berry+1 ts agave.
2 ts lemon juice+1 ts agave or honey.
We also use whey/yogurt as a sour cream substitute, marinades and baking.
Store-bought yogurt: we like Olympus brand or Brown cow [softer version].

This sounds delicious.

I put honey and sliced bananas in my Greek yogurt. YUMMMMMMM!

Are you buying full fat, 2% or 0% fat? I think this makes a flavor difference. I'm always in the camp of full fat or 1-2% for dairy, as you need fat to absorb nutrients.

I usually mix my 1% plain greek yogurt with fresh or frozen berries, some oatmeal or granola or cereal, and some honey or one packet of sugar (much less than preflavored yogurts). I love love love greek yogurt and it's super healthy so it's worth finding a combo you like!

PS - I also read a stat (somewhere...) that eating yogurt daily can reduce your risk of preterm labor!

I'm pretty sure it's fat free...but I'm not positive.

Good to know about the labor thing! Talk about an added bonus!

I find that the 1-2% varieties have more protein and give a little more fullness.

Am I the only one who eats greek yoghurt as is? I just chuck some muesli in it and tuck in. I like the sour flavor.

I love throwing in fresh strawberries and raspberries and a touch of sugar in my fage

I eat plain Greek yogurt every morning for breakfast - I don't want extra calories so I just use a bit of cinnamon and powdered stevia and it's great!

High Quality Fruit Preserves. I prefer Strawberry, Raspberry and Blueberry with my Yogurt.

You are not alone, I love plain yogurt and always have. Doesn't have to be greek (strained) either. When I lived in Canada, I used to get Astro's Original yogurt, a full fat plain that was so yummy even my infant (at the time) daughter loved it without sweeteners.

I love yogurt. If plain, I'll add honey + almonds for breakfast or raw garlic as a chip dip. If you haven't tried Greek Gods Honey yogurt- it's SO GOOD!!
