Greek yogurt

Tonight I used Greek yoghurt in my mash potatoes instead of the usual milk or sour cream. I added a little garlic as well and it was sooo tasty and creamy. :lickout:

As a quick afternoon snack I defrosted some frozen berries in the microwave until they were just warm, soft and all the juice was runny. I mixed them through the yoghurt. I was surprised by how much I enjoyed the tartness.

I've started a new health plan with no dairy but Greek yoghurt is encouraged so I'll be using it to substitute a lot of other things in the coming weeks.

I love Greek yogurt. We always have the trader joes 2% plain on hand. I really like a big dollop on top of savory foods--like a sour cream substitute. Enchiladas, chili, soup, baked sweet potato, etc.

It's tough to sweeten it without loading it with sugar/extra calories. I like it with cereal (my face is the GoLean crisp berry crumble). What about a spoonful of all-natural jam, or even a packet of stevia or a little agave nectar? Agave has calories, but a lower glucagon index, at least...

I have to say Fage makes some really good ones w/the flavors on the side. I also love the TJ's blueberry, TJ's Mango and brown cow.

I like the 0 % plain Chobani and the Fage the best but NOT by themselves!!! I add a few shakes of Crystal light powdered drink mix! Stir it up till i like the color and enjoy! I really like the raspberry lemonade and the strawberry kiwi favors. Not so much the cherry.

i like to add (local) honey and (organic) pure vanilla. and some granola if i have it on hand. it's not the lowest calorie option, but considering what it *keeps* me from eating instead, it's a much better alternative! ;))

lots of good ideas in here! I tried plain once and added some honey and it was still too sour for me. I can't remember what brand it was. now I usually get dannon (or whatever is on sale) in vanilla and if I eat it with kasha go lean crisp it's tasty enough. kroger now has their brand of greek yogurts too and those are really good! they are sweetened with stevia. I like the strawberry, strawberry mint, blueberry, and cranberry fig ones. and honey. lots of variety so check it out if you have a kroger or ralph's near you!
