Hi, I have a ring that my grandmother gave me. Not sure if it is real or not.
But it has an engraving that reads "dynasty" 14K.
The gems look to be sapphire and diamond. But I can't be certain.
Does the engraving mean anything to anyone?
Thanks
We really can't help you with so little information. Can you post a picture?
If it's stamped 14k, with no other "code" (gp, rgp, gf, fill, filled, etc.) that would indicate some sort of plating - then there's a good possibility it is 14k gold. A jeweler or pawn shop should be able to test the metal purity for you for not too much money. Unless it's custom engraved, "dynasty" imprint is most likely a brand or the name of a manufacturer. A google search turns up several "dynasty" jewelry lines. But there's no way to know whether your grandmother's ring was made by one of those companies, or some other company - that may or may not still be in business. Unless - you can match the script style used in your ring to that used by one of these companies, or unless you find a picture of a ring like your grandmother's in one of the online catalogs!
