Where is the idealscope image?

With the clarity grade of VS2, I am sure you couldn't see the inclusion, it should be eyeclean. But to be sure, you should ask JA to confirm this. HERE is a thread which would make interesting read!

By the way, did you reserve the stone? As its not available right now when I clicked on it.

LOL, stonecold, I thought I would see the Idealscope image too!

By the numbers, I prefer the first stone.

Well, I suggested the first stone so you know where my vote goes to.

Ya, megeve. :P

Hi,

Here's a diamond I am looking at: http://www.jamesallen.com/diamonds/G-VS2-Ideal-Cut-Round-Diamond-1259697.asp

Should I be worried about that cloud or mark in the middle of the table? Will I see it everytime I look down at the diamond?

Thanks!
I don't think you need to worry with VS2 clarity, also this diamond is far preferable to the second, the latter is what we call a steep deep, light leakage is the usual result with these angles.

The photo and GIA report you posted are not the same as the JA diamond linked in the original post. Which one are you considering?

I''m only looking at the 1.02 G VS2 diamond now and still waiting for the idealscope from JA.

Since I''m waiting, I started looking at settings.

Which do you prefer (as you can tell I like 18K yellow gold)?

I''m worried about the wire basket and the bar obstructing the diamond from the profile view. Should I be worried about that?

OR

For this one, I''m not sure if I like the channel set (yet) and if the diamonds and band width is too small?

Thanks!

I think the basket is good. It probably will block the girdle reflection, present in all round cuts, from view. :P

Yeah, I prefer the overall look of the basket ring but I'm worried about the bar blocking the diamonds overall reflection/sparkle. Should I be?

Maybe, I'm thinking about it too much but the bar is the only thing making me consider the second setting option.

No, it won''t affect it at all.

No, a well cut stone is not transmitting light through the pavilion of the stone to your eyes. All the light you see will come from above the girdle of the stone.

Finally, here's the idealscope for this diamond:

I have no clue how to read idealscopes so let me know what you think.

Thanks!
Its a good image, the optical symmetry isn't quite there but for a non h&a diamond this isn't a big deal, and there is also a very slight amount of leakage but this might not be visible in reality so my opinion is it is a good image, should be a lovely diamond.

Looks good to me.

Ditto. Looks great!

Good luck. :)
