Grad Ring project- help pick a designer/ design!

I am graduating for uni in December and DH would like to get me a ring for graduation. The class ring that is offered is UGLY!

My undergrad ring is the tiffany atlas ring, but this go around I think I want something designed just for me!

I am thinking a 5 or 7 stone (

maisies) but I have no idea other than that where to start or who to employ for this project, i am sure you lovely ladies can help me out!

What a beauty....I wonder if I could do a purple side stone (school colors) I would like some type of engraving of my schools symbol....

I think purple would be great on the side stones. Not sure where you would engrave that one though?
Maybe you could cut down on the number of stones and put the year on one side and your school name
abv. on the other.

I think that ring would be beautiful! But I''d suggest just engraving your initials, the school initials, and graduation date inside the shank.

That''s a great idea! I absolutely adore that ring and purple would look fab in it.

Iwanna, I love KT''s mom''s BGD ring. I think purple sapphires would look amazing in there. I would just give them a call when you have a chance and ask them about that with smaller diamonds. You can also alternate purple sapphire''s and diamonds. The bezels could be diamonds, then the larger stones could be three purple saphires or spinels and two diamonds. If you like purple, that is.

I am thinking .20-.25 per stone h-i vs2-si1 what do you think I am looking at pricewise?

I can''t believe I haven''t told you this! There is a girl at my new job that got engaged in June- she has a WF ACA 1.20 in a x prong (of course I recognized immediately small world). Her stone is the same color as mine but looks sooo much bigger and brighter than mine. Just enquiring to see what the pros and cons are... i am not interested in a perfect "designer brand" as I don''t want to lose too much weight but if the darkness on the edges could be minimized I''d be thrilled..... lol MISS YA !

Ohhhhh, very cool! I love the WF X prong, and it''s kind of cool that you can see the visible difference in a size close enough to yours to make a judgement call, but remember, we PSers are more critical of our own rings than we are of others''. Oh, I''m about to make a thread - just picked up my Scapolite in my new custom setting! I big puffy heart it!!!!!

Yep, she handed it to me and i put them next to each other. Up close mine is bigger, but hers seems brighter. Again, I am sure mine looks good on someone elses finger....
