Okay... so some of you may remember that I was complaining about wanting a small ceremony/reception with just immediate family members... and the DF originally agreed, but came home and felt pressure from his dad to change the day, make it bigger, spend more money on it.... etc.

And bc I was holding firm on the day (a monday), I agreed to compromise by agreeing to a larger reception.

And with all the back and forth.... and DF feeling guilty and pulled on both sides... we had a chat with his sister, and she totally supports what WE want...even if it''s a small/no reception thing... "It''s YOUR day!" she says, "Just tell Dad you have a plan, and he''ll back off."

So now DF feels reassured, and I wind up getting the small ceremony that I want.. and we''re running away afterward for a mini-honeymoon.

So...after all that stress and "compromising," we''re back to what I wanted all along!!

YAY!!!! I think you''ll be very happy that it worked out this way in the end, too.

So happy for you!

Ditto, glad to see everything is working out!

Yeah!!!! That''s great! I can sort of relate. When we were first engaged, my gutt feeling was to go elope. MAYBE 2 friends could come, that''s IT! But my Mom gave us a guilt trip and the rest of the family started insisting they be there also. She half-heartedly said we could but since my Dad just died, I didn''t want to make her feel worse. But then recently while she was forcing me to make the favors I never wanted to have, she says "next time you get married you should elope!!" The "next time" part was tongue in cheek, but I kinda wanted to choke her for saying I should elope! So, good that you are getting your way!

Lucky you! Run with it and don''t look back. *be quick about it* LOL

Yay to getting the wedding you want! Boo to family pressure. Yay for DF''s sister!
