I had to select 'seldom', as sometimes delivery will include straws (we get milkshakes with take out about once a month), and I do have 4 re-useable plastic straws that came with the 4 water bottles I purchased (each bottle has two head choices, one with a flip top with internal straw attached, the other a screw top with a wider mouth).
Stainless steel straws. Used all day (and during the night) to drink RO water from a stainless insulated cup. I drink more water when I use a straw. And yes, I wash them.
I have plastic ones bought some years ago, and also reusable stainless steel ones for my home and my campervan - they came with cute thin and long brushes!
no straws here
no straws at work either when the customers buy drinks
if plastic are not outlawed its a close thing ?
im pretty surw McDonalds might do a paper straw but i havnt had Maccas in ages
aside from polluting the ocean ive always hated straws
would always discard them from my whisky and lemonaid as a young thing
only a couple reusable ones. bamboo and stainless and I think one silicone. Only used if I want to take an iced coffee in my car in a cup with a cover. I also keep one reusable one in my car or purse in a carrier, in case I happen to go somewhere to buy something to drink like the iced coffee. I won't take a plastic straw. I possibly would take a paper one if I didn't have my own. And yes, I wash them.
I have only glass straws and they are everywhere I go. I despise paper straws. I have trouble with certain textures and they are like nails dragged on a chalkboard for me.
Not really, I did buy some personal reusable straws in little cases. They're in a cupboard somewhere.
Oh, and a face hugger glass straw for my Aliens loving kid that one time. I love the cute little glass straws- good stocking stuffer type gifts.
We have a pack of plastic straw that have been sitting in our kitchen drawer for years. We have them in case have toddlers/little kids visit. We also have a couple metal straws....they don't really get used either. Think they were a gift from my mom to my "kids" but they are now 20 and 18, and we never really used them.
I bought some metal straws a few years back. Tried it once and almost chip my teeth! So never again. I do have some individually wrapped plastic straws my husband brought back from his coffee runs. It's a pain to wash and dry to recycle. A few years back I bought Yeti tumblers for everyone so no straws are needed. I do have to throw the lids in the washer every few days.
I make cocktails at home and when I go camping in tall glasses, like Pimms, Long Island Ice Tea, Mojito etc., hence I keep straws at home and in the campervan.
Other half - it’s an upscale day when he bothers with a glass, rather than chugging whatever sodas straight out of the bottles (I never drink his sodas…)
On the very rare occasion I get something with a straw I re-learn that I’m a compulsive straw chewer, I’d destroy teeth within seconds with those metal straws!
I bought some paper straws when I started to bleach my teeth. I realised that it really doesn't make much difference to the colour of my teeth if I drink with a straw or not.
Not any more. I enjoyed them when I was younger but I don't use them now. I remember those Krazy straws with lots of loops and turns we would drink through. Ahh the joys of youth.
I have little kids, so yes. They use stainless steel straws because I can’t bring myself to use disposable plastic straws. If we have parties, I try to buy paper straws.

I am ready to be skewered! I pride myself on being super green at home, but straws are my one vice! I hate the metal ones (dangerous), I hate washing the silicone type ones because they never seem to get fully clean and paper ones are gross and get soggy so quick. I have a pack of the disposable ones from years ago that I am slowly going through. When theyre done I'm not sure what I'll do! I drink most things without a straw, but I like them for high ball type drinks, mainly because the ice gets in the way.
I use straws when I’m in the car and driving, and I have some silicone straws that I use with my car travel mugs. I figure using a straw while driving is safer than tipping my head back to take a sip. Also kept bendy straws on hand when looking after my dad. Other than that I rarely use straws, even when eating out.
