Got diamond hoops, but...

now i don't want them anymore! It took weeks for me to finally decide on buying them, but now that I have them, i don't like how they look on me. And since I bought them pretty cheap off a co-worker, i can't return it either. Boo.

Has anyone ever been thru something like this? i LOVE how they look when i'm holding them or when someone else is wearing them, but they just look funky on me. Like they're too over-the-top.

Do you guys think they may be too big for everyday wear? they are 1 and 1/16 inches in diameter, and i'm only 5'2.

Honestly? I think they''d make good going-out earrings, but they are a bit much for everyday wear and not formal enough for evening gown accessorizing. They''d look good with nice jeans and a funky top, for drinks with the friends, though.

They are pretty petite in my opinion and I don''t wear hoops. Probably just take adjusting to. They look awesome!

I agree with Hest...I can totally see them for going out to a bar or dinner or show, but they are a bit much for everyday wear given how petite you are. I think they look beautiful against your hair though!

I am sorry that you are on the fence about the earrings.

Personally I would wear them with a simple outfit (i.e black dress pants and a simple top, no other jewelery and the earrings). I would pretty much any piece of jewelery for everyday wear (no matter how large etc.,) as long as it is the ONLY piece I wear.

Or as Hest said with the a funky top and jeans.

By no means do I think they are too much. But maybe if they were paired with a huge diamond pendent, it might be much for everyday wear. They are lovely though, and I hope they grow on you.

Wear them for everyday. They are gorgeous.

My new ones are 1 3/8" and I will wear them for daywear.

I think hoops look great with turtlenecks.

And your hair will be over them. Enjoy!!

I think they look great on you, and especially nice with your dark hair! But you know best what you will or won''t enjoy wearing. They''re bigger than I would wear everyday, but I''m pretty conservative with jewelry.

Since you got a great deal on them, if you decide you''d prefer something else, maybe you could sell them on consignment (maybe at Signed Pieces or Pearlman''s?) does BN have a trade up policy?

The contrast of the diamondswith your dark hair is fab. I think they''re gorgeous. I suspect it''s a case of you getting used to larger earrings. In my opinion they''re great. Give it time before you give up on them.

Okay, they're definitely NOT for me. well... maybe not. I wore them for dinner tonight, and had to take them off after about 2 hours. I'm not a hoops girl. Everytime i moved my head, my hair would nudge it around, and i'd get irritated because it'd move my earlobes. (stupid heavy hair!) That means i'd have to tie my hair up every time i wear them!

So now i gotta decide if I wanna get rid of them or not. It just seems like a shame because i got such a great deal on them.

BN doesn''t have a tradeup policy. Too bad, because BN sells these for $1050, and i bought them for $625. I think the .50ctw would be better suited for me, but the .5ctw is already $600 at BN. Mine are 1ctw.

I''m gonna think on it over the weekend, but most likely they''ll end up on eBay.

That''s too bad. I don''t think they are too much at all. I think you are just not used to it. Hoops are great because they can be dress up or dress down. Young celebs wear them to award shows with their fancy dresses and they wear them out with their jeans. I think they would look great with everyday outfits too, maybe not a t-shirts but a blouse or turtle neck or sweater or cut top. Either way everything will work out; either you keep it and start to love it or you can sell it and probably make a profit.

FWIW, I LOVE THEM and think they look GORGEOUS! Absolutely SMASHING!

And yes, I think they'd be fine for everyday wear... with jeans and flip-flops even! But then, I LOVE the look of a little *surprise* bling!

I agree with everyone else. They are great earrings. They probably just take some getting used to. Personally I would wear them for everyday. I love the diamonds on the inside. Just my 0.2

Thanks for everyone''s advice. I have decided to sell them because i finally realized why they look funky. My ears lay really flat against my head, so when i wear them, they stick out to the side so the diamonds can only be seen by people who are standing NEXT to me. From the front, they make me look like Dumbo!!

I''m gonna have my friends take a picture of my dumbo look, but i wont be able to post it til after i go home tomorrow. You guys will go, "Yep, she looks like Dumbo"
