I saw the most gorgeous asscher ring today... the setting was like isaku was describing with the halo of traps or baguettes or whatever, very clean and really beautiful - and the shank was a split shank with tiny little baguettes up the splits and millgrain all over... it was so delicate and gorgeous - I''ve never seen baguettes set like that on a split shank and it was so awesome! Anyone seen one like that? have a picture?

a local jeweler... I have no idea who makes it or if it was a custom job, I know they do custom work but I don''t know if they did that, I doubt it... itw as very finely detailed... I saw one pave set that wouldn''t survive an afteroon with me! the diamonds were so small I couldn''t see them LOL I was surprised it threw off as much fire as it did!

bahahaha it was hard enough getting down town to begin with, but this guy is in a high rise with a buzzer... I don''t know how I could just stroll in LOL!!! I did ask to take a pic of something at BB but they said no. I had already taken a few on the sly already though LMAO! I just wanted a clearer one!

hehe I did a search and I found one of isabel''s old threads LOL! But this picture gypsy made the ring on the right is very close except that it was a split shank and the edges were milgrained.

You did well to find that pic that Gypsy and Irina designed, but what you''re describing sounds even better!!!

A little hard to visualize baguettes in the split shank and millgraine, but I''ll try my best.

I don''t suppose there''s a way to ask the jeweller nicely to photograph that setting ( because you have an interest???) and e-mail it to you. You see we PS''ers are relentless when it comes to finding what sounds like a beautiful setting possibility.

well grrrrrrls... I looked on his website and it wasn''t there so I called and told him about a "friend who doesn''t live locally but has been looking for an asscher setting" so he''s going to take a picture of it and email it hehehehehehe :D He said he made it and it wasn''t difficult... he said he can sell the setting or have a stone mounted there... he''s really the top of the game here in portland I think. His settings were the best I saw yesterday... many very unique. Yanno, before I commit to design I might want to take another look there.

Okay they sent me this one, it''s not a very good pic and I swear it''s not what I saw in the store but I''m not going to argue with them LOL I could so be wrong, I was mostly thinking about the 2.5 ideal round they were waving at me lol

I don''t remember all of that under detail but mostly I just looked from the top, I didn''t ask to look at it. There is a 1 carat sitting in it right now, unset. I definitely like the split shank baguettes with millgrain though!!!

Thanks Cehra, but it''s way too vintage for my liking. I appreciate your effort on PS business and maybe someone else here is looking for that style....

I figured as much when I saw this pic, but without all the under froo I still think the baguette split shanks are really pretty... I''ve never seen those before!
