Hi All,
New to the forum and looking for some quick advice. (need the advice quick because i have to choose if i'm going to get this ring within the next 3 days.) From Bidz.com....won it for $500 (said compare at over $6,000)

Here are the specs I have on it:

14 K White Gold

Princess Cut - 3 stones, equaling one Carat

Color: L-N...(description says: Tope cape tinted White to tinted color)

Clarity: SI1 - SI2

So...by looking at the pictures....can any of you tell me if $500 is a good value. Let me also add, that I am not a fan of white diamonds...I like the look of champagne diamonds....I realize these are not champagne, but they are not white either. The non whiteness will not bother me. However, the cut does not look that great to me, considering the huge whiteish spot in the middle of the stones. Can anyone reiterate this? It would be most appreciated. Thanks!!

I can tell you right now that its worth is no where near $3K. Also a L-N stone will not look orangey brown as shown in the pictures attached.

The white area in the middle could well be light leakage, hence the colour is not reflected back to the eyes.
L-N is more tinted yellow, not champagne.

Absolutely not!! An L colour grade is a softer white and actually not yellow especially face up ( I know because I own one). I wouldn't want to hazard a guess at the actual colour grade is of those diamonds, but they would be well down the scale to brown etc.

The color of the diamonds is not what will bother me. I am more about the sparkle factor :-) Want the cut to be good.
So, in conclusion....$500 is not a good deal for this ring???
Thanks for your opinions!

I don''t think it''s going to sparkle a lot with a dead looking center. The sides look all right but the center of the stone is icky.

It is anyone's guess what the ring and diamonds will be like, they might have several of these rings and the cut quality of the diamonds is unknown, so as you want sparkle, you can't guarantee it I don't think with this deal. That might not even be the actual ring you get anyway, so even the colour of the diamonds could be variable.

I don''t think $500 is a bad deal for this kind of ring, the price sounds about right. I don''t think you got ripped off. However, I''m not sure this ring is going to be that pretty either. The stones look like they have a poor cut and the color will just look slightly tinted yellow, not champagne at all. More like a dull off white color.

I doubt the seller of this ring is taking a loss, but if it is worth $500 to you than the answer is 'yes.'

Personally I might go for the $63,000 ring that is going for $613. Now that is a deal! Slap that puppy on eBay and I'm rich!
