Hey folks!

I was wondering if there was a consensus on a good size for a center stone to go into a Ritani Endless Love Halo RB setting without having it lose its charm or overall look?

I have a 1.15ct ACA 6.7mm across RB, but I''m beginning to think that maybe I should get another ACA which measures approximately 7.03mm across and is a 1.31ct RB.

I wonder, do you think it''ll make a big difference in appearance?

My gf is small, but she prefers a looser ring so it doesn''t squish her finger..... so even though a 5 fits through her knuckle, she prefers a 6 or a 6.25 so it doesn''t squish the proximal phalangeal area....

Thanks.... hope I get lots of responses!

no, it won't make a big difference. the halo will make a much bigger difference.

I don't think it's possible to put in a stone that would make it "lose its charm," as it's hardly a charming setting unless you put in a 1/4 ct, or lose its overall look, as its overall look is quite a lot of look.

You won''t really notice the difference between the two once all is said and done IMO...

The price difference between the 2 rocks is about 1100$.... I haven''t bought the Ritani Setting yet because I''m saving up for it. If I stick with my stone, I can get it into the setting through Pearlmanns a lot faster, but again - I''m not in a rush just yet. I have several months prior to proposing so I have time on my side, for now.

I just dont want to have any regrets and I was just thinking that maybe the Ritani will be more stunning if it had a 7mm stone...

Unlike solitaire settings, I assume it''s a lot tougher to upgrade the center stone of a Ritani EL Halo....

... I just want to get the best with my money.

The thing is, I''m a resident doc and I won''t have the disposable that I would if I waited a couple of years when I become an attending. I really dont want to skimp only to find myself in a position to upgrade a couple of years down the line... my gf does not want anything too large and she is a simple girl. She has no idea about the Ritani and she is probably expecting a .75ct on a simple 6 prong Tiff style setting in WG.

I know the 1.15 in a Ritani will be gorgeous ala Cutey TT''s Ritani ring....

... I''m just not so sure about pulling the trigger (an expensive one at that) on a larger stone just to make sure I have no regrets...

I don''t think the difference in size will make a huge impact on the overall look.

The sizing comment caught my attention - does your GF usually wear rings a size larger? I ask because, generally, the knuckle is the widest part of the finger, so a ring doesn''t usually feel tight. In fact, I find that a too large ring will hurt my finger a lot more, since the metal will bite into the other fingers. But, of course, if this is how she usually wears her rings, go with it.

Well, considering you will likely be in a better financial situation in the relatively near future, I''d go ahead and get the larger stone now. It wouldn''t matter so much if you were setting it in a plain solitaire because that could easily be upgraded in 5 years. But in the Ritani setting, it cannot be upgraded without having the setting remade. So my advice is to go ahead and get the 1.3 with the idea of it being a ring that she can always wear.

1.15 carats will be plenty big with the halo. I actually prefer smaller stones (under .75) with halos because the halos do make the stone look SO much bigger!! I love ritani''s halo by the way, delicate and pretty, great choice!!
