1.40 RD H SI1 GIA $8,290 60.8 56
7.19x7.16x4.36

I''ve asked for more information (eye clean, pics, GIA report, etc), but based on this information, what do you think?

I''m trying to keep my budget below $10K, 1.40-1.60, best cut possible for the entire setting.

Also, where do I find the Vatche Plat X-Prong for rounds?

PS. I am cringing of the thought of spending this much money for something that came out of the ground. Is this normal???

hey chil1, the price is reasonable for that size stone. did you also ask for a sarin and idealscope image? if you are interested in cut quality, those would be most helpful.

i believe wink is still carrying vatche settings. www.winkjones.com

ps..your feelings are perfectly normal, but will more than likely be alleviated once you see the finished ring.

Thanks belle. I did not ask but I will do that. Thank you very much.

It''s also H&A.

Oh ya - the ones I just posted are eye clean per White Flash''s contact.

Thanks for looking these up recran, you have just introduced more information that is making my head spinning :-)

I guess I need to consider the following:
USA Cert: 1.40 H SI1 GIA $8,290 H&A cut 60.8 56 7.19x7.16x4.36

or

WF: 1.41 H SI2 AGS $7,154 Ideal Cut 61.5 55 7.23-7.19X4.44

With both being eye-clean, saving a $1,100 seems to be a better deal except my learnings have told me to always go with the best cut which in this case would be the H&A, correct?

I have to admit that Martin Sheffield has been pretty fast at replying to my emails. And Melissa Sharp from WinkJones was quick to reply on settings. She sent me a quote for http://www.dvatche.com/eclipse/new_catalouge1.htm but I have no idea if it is good or not. The only thing I could compare it to was a local B&M reatiler that was about $400-500 more.

having h&a is not any guarantee of cut quality. cut quality is determined by, but not limited to, the compatibility of certain angles and proportions. don''t assume that having a stone labled ''h&a'' will mean you are getting a good cut.

no coincidence. it is the same stone. such is the life of a virtual diamond.
