. . . about my search for studs! (Which you all are probably sick of hearing about! LOL!)
After two failed attempts at ordering a pair of princess-cut studs from ~ well, lets just say "lesser" ~ vendors, I finally broke down and called Sheerah at Whiteflash. She''s helping me pick out a pair of diamonds, and she''s searching as we speak, and she says she''ll e-mail me some options today! WOO-HOO!!! Yay, Sheerah!!!
Now, I have to decide how I want them set. SIGH!
As you all probably know, Whiteflash usually sets their princess-cut studs into a simple four-prong basket setting, and I''ve never had a problem with basket settings. But, after drooling over everyone''s martini-set round studs here on PS, I''m not sure that baskets are what I want! Those martinis are GORGEOUS!!!
Sheerah tells me that Whiteflash can make the settings however I want them made. Here is an example of Whiteflash''s stock basket setting for the princess-cut studs: http://www.whiteflash.com/Fine-jewelry/Diamond_Studs/Four-Prong-Princess-Cut--READY-SET-TO-GO_821.htm
And here is an example of some martini-set ones that I found on Overstock.com: http://www.overstock.com/Jewelry-Watches/14k-Gold-1ct-TDW-Princess-Diamond-Stud-Earrings-G-H-I-SI1-SI2/1735939/product.html?
I''ve always liked the basket settings, but the ones on Whiteflash just look so bulky and boxy, if that makes any sense. I''ve seen mixed reviews here on PS about the martinis, too ~ some of you say you love them, and some say they make your ear holes bigger. Also, I''m worried about the sturdiness of the martini settings ~ I have this irrational fear of one of the prongs just bending outward and letting go of the diamond!!!
If it helps, the studs will be about 1.5 ctw (so about 0.75 ct each), I''m looking in the G/H/I color range and the VS2/SI1 clarity range, and they will be set in yellow gold. Advice, please???
