thanks for posting this article! it is so true that jewelers and jewelry designers have recieved little respect or reconition from the art world when it comes to reconizing jewelry as an art form rather then a craft! i dont think people get the diffeculty level of designing and producing wearable art. ive studied art and art history as well as the jewelry arts and i really have had to fight for artists that paint or sculpt to even consider jewelry as a valid form of artistic expression.Some artists seem to think that jewelry is way of showing and carrying wealth rather then art.

Jewelerman, breeze by the thread on Jewelry Pieces -- "calling I'mDanny -- Great jewelers." I put it up after Danny & I talked in another thread about spectacularly talented jewelers. If that isn't art, nothing else is either! I don't see how anyone can look at achievements like those & call them crafts.

Oh, I wish I could go to that exhibit! Great jewelry is certainly an art!
