Thanks so much....you guys, uhm, well....rock!

The stone scored an amazing 0.4 -- all excellents on the HCA.

Is this stone certified? By whom?

Here is a similar stone for price comparison: $2750

The only question is whether or not the flourescence affects the stone's appearance. Generally, medium flourescence shouldn't be a big concern, but it should also keep the price a little lower than it would have been otherwise. You just want to make sure that the stone doesn't have a milky or oily appearance.

If it is certified by the GIA or AGs, it sounds like a good deal though you may be able to negotiate a bit. Have you seen it? How does it look?

Yup, it's AGS certified with a Sarin report. It checks out all good. The other stone is this:

Carat weight: 0.73
Color: H
Clarity: VS1
Depth %: 61.1%
Table %: 55%
Crown %: 34.1%
Pavillion %: 40.4%
Symmetry: Ideal
Polish: Ideal
Girdle: Thin to slightly thick, faceted
Culet: 0.7% - Slight
Fluorescence: Negligible
Measurements: 5.80x5.86x3.56 mm

Price: 3000.00

I haven't seen either stone, but I'm leaning towards the first one. The spread is about the same on both, but the cut is just a tad bit better on the first one. Also, the Medium Blue flu might improve the visual color of the first stone. Let me know what you all think. Thanks once again.

BTW: Unfortunately these are the negotiated prices, though I don't think the prices are too far off for such a great cut.

As long as the flouresence doesn't create a milky, or cloudy look in sunlight, (which most do not), it should help make the H color look even whiter. Just make sure to check it in natural sunlight.

Each stone ... 34.2/40.5 and 34.1/40.4

Before you take the plunge you might want to take a peek at ... same crown angles but by bringing those pavilion angles more around the 40.8-40.9 zone may bring you more fire and more scintillation. Make the comparison before you drop the $$$. My experience has not been too good when the pavilion angles fall this shallow.

My .02c

Thanks for the replies....I'll look into the pavillion angles some more....I'm a little new at this, so I'll have to do some more reading.

Oh, BTW the Pavillion Angle on the second diamond is actually 40.7. Doesn't know if that makes a difference.
