I am proud of myself. I always get such satisfaction when I find a great deal. I bought 32 full size bottles of water for $4.00! I know that it is better to take a bottle from your house and reuse, but I do plan on reusing these. I will take one with me to work and refill all day. Besides I can recycle.

Has anyone else found any great deals recently?

My sons love Kashi Strawberry Fields cereal along with other varieties of that brand and a store by me was having a sale, plus there was coupons attached to the box, so each box ended up only costing $1.50. Yeah, not a "deal" if you compare to the prices of regular cereal, but the regular Kashi prices are crazy. . .$5.00+ a box!

Oh, and last week and I bought *12* boxes of organic Cascade Farms brand cereal for $1.50 a box (when on sale, with coupons), as well.

Right now, we have A LOT of cereal in the house. Kids are still eating normal dinner (whole foods w/veggies/organic meat) and regular P&B sandwiches for lunch, but all the rest of the time, they''ve been eating their whole grain/organic cereal! lol Makes life a breeze.

I love me a good deal. Be careful about reusing water bottles though. Bacteria forms where moisture is trapped when the cap is on. It is better to get a BPA free water bottle or buy new bottle water.

My favorite is when a product I want/need is on sale, I have a mani coupon AND a store coupon...such a rush. Then I quickly remember how pathetic my life has become. Haha.

I am ridiculous about this kind of stuff. Give me a good deal and a coupon and you''ve made my day. Sad. You should see my collection of Tide detergent. I was picking it up for like $2/bottle there for a bit. I got some tuna free the other day. Gotta love that. I also found some of that Boursin (sp?) cheese the other day marked down from $6 to $3 and with a $1.50 off coupon attached. I bought two.

I stock up on stuff, like detergent too. . .one thing, though, is that I notice if I have a huge stock-pile, I will go through the detergent faster/use more because I don''t feel the need to conserve every precious drop like I would if there was only one bottle of All Free and Clear in the house and running out would mean an extra trip to the grocery store.

I always find good deals on cleaning products. I had a coupon, my store card and there was a sale anyway, so I ended up getting a bunch of Febreze and GreenWorks products for about a buck each. Niiiice. More into my jewelry savings

I never seem to find great deals at the grocery store. My husband and I noticed that food seems so much more expensive here in the southeast than it does in the northeast. I''m not sure if it is or not, but we''re always floored when we pay. It seems like we should get more, considering what our weekly bill is.

I haven''t really done it since I''ve been pregnant but I used to subscribe to certain blogs that will list sales and coupon matchups to get free or really cheap products. I got tons of Kashi cereal for like 50cents/box once and I always get my laundry detergent for $1.99 this way. I LOVE bargains and hate spending more money than necessary!

That''s why I don''t carry a Nalgene bottle or any other type of water bottle around. I drink water constantly but I don''t like the thought of the stuff that''s probably trapped in the bottle.

I LOVE getting deals - frugality is an art! I found a great coupon recently for my favourite dark chocolate and was thrilled :)

Where do you get the coupons from in the first place? I never see any. I don''t use supermarkets, though, so maybe that''s why.

DH signed up for a loyalty scheme (totally by mistake haha) when he bought creme de la mer for my birthday a few years ago. They send us free samples and money off vouchers for that every few months. I suppose if I can only have one coupon, that one will do!

Other than that, I''m lame at deals / coupons / bargain hunting.

MrsM, the sunday paper has tons of coupons in the US. Also I register for products I use often (ex. Pampers) and they will mail me coupons. There are also websites you can print coupons off. The supermarket I use doubles coupons daily so the savings really can add up. Store coupons often print out on the register tape.

I find Costco has great deals especially when paired with their coupon book that they mail members every couple of months. We wait for the coupons to stock up on paper products (tp, tissues, paper towels)etc. We really end up saving lots of money. My brother in law though has a saying LOL "my family is going broke saving money at Costco"

I love good deals! Our local grocery store had large avocados on sale this weekend for 50 cents! I LOVE avocados and 50 cents is a very good price. I bought 10. There wasn''t a limit. If my DH didn''t stop me I''d buy more. Used 4 of them for guacamole for a party so it was perfect timing. That made me very happy.

I had to put a ban on newspapers coming into our house. We were starting to turn into crazy hoarder people.

MrsM, I won''t buy the Sunday paper. Hope you find some deals!

I''m all excited this week because Kroger is continuing the "Buy 8 participating items, get $4 off sale". Kraft cheese is part of the sale. It makes them 99 cents per package if you have a total of 8 of the items and Publix has a coupon in the cheese aisle for $2 off Kraft when you buy two. So i''m going to drop into the Publix, grab a few coupons (they''re Smart Source, not store specific) and then head back over to the Kroger and get me a good deal on cheese!

I find I get the best deal on cleaning products at Publix. When they run things B1G1 (things like Windex, Clorox cleanup, etc), there is usually a coupon that''s come out in the paper at some point and I get them for about 25 cents per bottle. Sometimes I have to pay 50 cents, but it''s usually a quarter.

Oobie what is the name of the websites that will give me coupons? I usually dont do coupons, but I may start if it is worth it. I got my waters with the regular price plus my special, not so special store card. Normally it doesnt do much, but it did with that item.

I do not plan to use the same bottle for more than one day for that reason. Getting the bottles is so helpful because then we can grab and go, ya know?

Just a minor vent about coupons. I hate when it''s like $50 cents off of TWO blah blah products! It''s not worth it. You''re going to make me buy two of something I only need one of just to get a measly $25 cents taken off both?

The ONLY thing that makes that kind of coupon even remotely worth it is a store that doubles coupons and/or if it''s something you need two of.

We use the supermarket shopper cards (free ones when you sign up-they are loyalty cards I suppose) and savings seem to be pretty good with them.

I agree newspaper coupons are great savings too (especially with doubling opportunities)--but I have yet to bite the bullet and order the Sunday paper since it means at least 4 days of paper which we are unlikely to get around to reading. I know there are websites where you can print out coupons, but no printer at home and work blocks printing of those for some reason.

publix sells the sunday paper for $1.19 and the coupons more than pay for it. I took a coupon class and have cut my grocery bill in half. I shop the deals and then add the coupons and stock pile. last week I got $12 boxes of kellogs cereal for .50 cents a box between the store sale and my coupons.

do you all find that supermarkets verify coupon expiration dates? That is one thing that annoys me..taking the time to cut coupons and then when I do buy the product, the coupon has just expired.

Janine, I just buy the Sunday paper. It is $2 here and like MrsM said it pays for itself (love when they have pamper coupons). My neighbor and I actually give each other our leftovers. It amazes me how two families can use completely different items. So I usually get bonus coupons.

Speaking of good deals CVS has a great Pampers sale. You can only buy 2 (per card) but my jumbo came out to $4.50ish (usually $10.99-11.99 depending on where you shop). Drug stores often have great promos and there are lots of websites to show you how to work them to your advantage. You can score lots of free stuff and people seem to donate to shelters the things they don''t use/need which I think is really nice.

What are everyone''s favorite coupon websites?

A what''s-it now?

I can''t believe there is a coupon class. But reducing any bill by half is not to be sneezed at

, even if it does teach grandmothers to suck eggs.

What are everyone''s favorite coupon websites?
I subscribe to Grocery Game for one store. I like that the way the list is organized and color coded (basically tells me when a price is a "rock bottom" price vs a teaser sale that''s really not a good deal). I pay $5 month for one store list that matches the sales to my coupons. This particular store does a lot of "unadvertised" sales that aren''t in the weekly flyer and the "list" I get catches them. I wouldn''t know about these before going to the store otherwise. They also catch "closeout" items and match the coupon if there is one, which I think is really cool.

I use Coupon Mom (it''s free) for stores that have more straightforward sales. I HATE how her list is organized- alphabetized instead of categorized. She also doesn''t really "track" the sales. It tells you the % saved, but not if it''s a "rock bottom" price. I know the store well enough by now that I generally know when it''s a good sale or not, but I still pull the trigger too early every now and again.

I do stockpile and I save an average of 60% off every grocery bill. I wouldn''t shop any other way.

Sams had a 5 pack of avocados today...for $1.75. I couldn''t wait to post my find! I bought two, but there are plenty left for the rest of you!

(I realize a wholesale club doesn''t really apply, but geeze it was only $1.75!)

I also get coupons during the week and one company (redplum?) I used to throw out those darn newspaper ads then realized they sock coupons in them as well same as my sunday newspaper
1.gif
so not sure if you have a habit of throwing those out or not, or if you even get them in your area?

Ok, I found a coupon! I was so pleased with myself and I took it straight to a supermarket and tried to buy two packs of pampers for the price of one.

I''d picked the wrong sort, so the offer didn''t apply. I left a queue of angry people waiting while I went back and got the right sort. Then I had the right sort, but in the wrong size of pack (this information was disclosed only when the barcode on this miserable coupon was scanned at the checkout). Went back for the right size of the right type. On final inspection, the sodding coupon had expired the day before.

Oh, and in wandering around an unfamiliar store, I''d managed to fill a trolley with random things that appealed to me. I spend an absolute fortune. I don''t have the bargain gene.

I will henceforth leave this stuff to people who know what they''re doing.
