They are asking 10250. Is this a good deal? If not what would be a reasonable price to get this diamond at in a small store. Any suggestions, should I keep looking?

It's a SI2 - Is it eye clean? Where are the inclusions?
The polish is only good - I'd at least look for VGood.

Keep looking.

It''s really deep, and even GIA calls it only "good."

Forget the price, and even that you like it, sorry to say. At least, consider if you''ll like it after comparing to ones actually marked "excellent" cut by GIA. Dollar for Dollar, even compared to clarity & color, you don''t pay enough of a premium to skimp on cut, which, by the way, we value most here.

Ditto Ira, the proportions could be a lot better for this diamond and it will look small for it's weight, more like a 1.3 ish carat weight, you don't want to pay for weight you can't see. It is too deep and combined with the girdle measurement these are hiding the weight.

63.9 is far to deep, it won''t look like a 1.5 ct. Keep looking!

Your right a little deep. 1.50 should be more around the 7.4 mm

GIA SI2 will look like an SI1 if not an upper SI2 They seem to always overgrade.

Good to Very Good its all on paper or on a machine. Hate to burst some bubbles here but we all live in the real world and if you put two together one with a Good polish and one with a Very Good polish you would have a 50% chance of "Guessing it right" Cant tell them apart just by eyeballing it.
I think the depth of the stone will be in the proportion grade. Symmetry Characteristics only get out of wack visually with a "Fair" Grade.

I think if you look around at other diamonds that the price question will answer itself.

It''s facing up like a 1.35 due to it''s depth. I''d keep looking, you can find something better for 10k.
