I bought this for my mother. 18k white gold, re-plated by the jeweler. 1 Ct. total weight. I''m a little nervous about the size of the diamonds. The pendant hasn''t arrived yet and I have a 30 day return policy.

Background story is my mother has a pendant like this in yellow gold from my dad, but they got a divorce, so I thought I''d replace it for her with a diamond one.

"Approx. 50 round brilliant cut diamonds that measure at approx. .02 carats each for a total diamond weight of 1 carat. The diamonds are high quality and range in clarity form VS-1 to SI-1 and the color is approx. H-I. The pendant measures at 38 mm with the bale and 22 m wide and is also 2.40 mm thick."

You probably got a great deal if the diamonds end up being as stated. The price is good, the seller has 100% feedback, and there is a decent return policy.

You should be safe, either way.

I guess I should take it to a local jeweler? Or get an appraisal? Given the price I''m not sure paying for an appraisal makes sense. I

Don''t know where you are, but my appraisal (SF) ran 110/hr, so definitely not worth it here! I don''t think you can expect loupe clean at that price, but if you inspect it with just your eyes and you like it, you got a great deal! I''d check that the diamonds are sparkly and that none are obviously included/chipped, I''d check that the airholes are nicely rounded, all of the same size, and well centred. I''d check the prongs holding the diamonds (can''t tell from the pic if bead set or shared prong or something else?) are shaped well and actually cover a portion of each diamond as they''re supposed to. I''d also ask the seller about his repair/replacement policy should you lose a diamond.

Thanks for the guidance! I''m going to take it to a jeweler today (hopefully) so I should get some feedback. I received it and it looks nice from my loupe, but honestly the diamonds are hard for me to see very well. I am a little concerned that the color is lower than stated, since at least one diamond has some yellow in it. I''ll post an update when I have one.

Ok the jeweler said many of the diamonds are closer to SI and the pendant does show some warmth or color, but it was hard for him to say with set stones, and this was just a look over. Overall, I think I did good, considering that its sparkley and everything. Its just a little hard to know.
