Lane and I are about to embark on a loooooong road trip for a wedding... We''re driving 2 hours tonight and staying at a friends. Then we have 10 hours tomorrow, wedding that night, and we''re turning around on Saturday and going back the way we came. So, we''re going to need a LOT of good music to listen to! I''ve made 3 CD''s already, but I know we''re going to need a LOT more! So, post your favorite song to jam out to in the car. Since we''ll be up super early tomorrow we need some fun, upbeat songs! I''m tired of making playlists already!!

For roadtrips I always think of soundtrack music. Reality Bites, Ferris Buehler''s Day Off, Breakfast Club, stuff like that. You can come up with a lot of variety that way rather than thinking of songs by artist.

John Michael Montgomery.

No particular song. (I have one CD that I used to stick in the car and have it loop over and over for my 4-5 hour drives I was doing a few times a week)

"How You Like Me Now" by The Heavy (it''s also in a Kia commercial)
Anything by the Beastie Boys (though this typically encourages me to speed, so... um, be careful)
"That''s Not My Name" by the Ting Tings
Anything by Vampire Weekend

These are my favorite driving songs:

"My Sharona" The Knack
"Sweet Emotion" Aerosmith
"Good Things" Bodeans
"You Can''t Always Get What you Want" Rolling Stones (My favorite song ever)
The Barbie Doll song (I have no idea who wrote this but I love listening to this in the car)

"Save a Horse" Big and Rich
"Closer to Fine" Indigo Girls (this one is obvious)
"No Rain" Blind Melon
"Every Thing She Does is Magic" The Police
"Dyer Maker" Led Zeppelin
"Steal my Kisses" Ben Harper
"End of the World" R.E.M.
"Brushfire Fairytales" Jack Johnson
"Mercedes Benz" Janis
"Uptown Girl" Billy Joel
"Tripping Billies" DMB
"Cripple Creek" The Band
"Sugar Magnolia" Grateful Dead
"Jack and Diane" John Mellencamp
"You Shook Me All Night Long" AC/DC
"The Hook" Blues Traveler
"Send me on my Way" Rusted Root

Driving can be so much fun! Our last car ride was through Canada(5 days!)

What I could listen to a lot was:
Modest Mouse(Their latest album)
Lady Gaga
Hall & Oats (The Bird and the Bee did an album of Hall & Oats covers and it''s so awesome!)
The Beatles
She & Him
Weezer

At least that''s stuff that works for me when I''m driving. Sounds like a fun time!

Jack Johnson CD. Nearly any. Fun sing along music. Well, we like them anyway.

Raul Malo. With or without The Mavericks.

Stevie Ray Vaughn. Any. All.

Motown. The early years.

One Eskimo. Love me some Kandi.

Pat Benatar baby!

beatles
robert palmer
superstar by the carpenters(dont you remember you told me you loved me baby!)

Anything by Jimi Hendrix. Spanish Castle Magic and Purple Haze are probably the most well known but Foxxy Lady and Red House are two of my favorites too.
