Hello, I''m not engaged yet, but my parents are visiting next week from overseas. Since there will probably be no chance for us to go dress shopping together, we''ve decided to do it, ring or not.

So, my question is, can somebody tell me a reputable bridal salon in the LA/OC/IE area? I don''t have a set budget yet, but probably under $400. I know this budget is almost impossible without going online, but the purpose of this trip is to try on TONS of dresses to see what style looks good on me. Given that, I''m willing to try on some dresses that is out of my price range, just to see how it looks on me.

So far the only places that pop in my mind are David''s Bridal by Ontario Mills and Group USA in the mall. Any other good "real" bridal salon will be appreciated. Thanks!

try going to yelp.com, type in your city and do a search for "bridal salon". good luck!

I went to two places. The first one was awesome. They are located in Anaheim off of Harbor Blvd. The name is Mariposa Boutique.

I did the same thing as you. I tried on tons of dresses and found one I loved. I am having it made from a store on ebay for $220 shipped. I trust the site and have emailed and imed with them about everything and am realy looking forward to it.

Alfred Angelo in Huntington Beach, Lakewood, Riverside, among others.
Jinny''s Bridal, HB
Mon Amie, Costa Mesa

I was not impressed with Castle for Brides in HB.

Here''s a similar thread

Alfredo Angelo is also in Brea off of the 91 freeway. Mon Amie I have heard is very nice as well.

Thanks for your replies! I''ve heard about Jinny''s Brides elsewhere. I guess it''s a good omen that it''s recommended here as well. Woo, lots of driving to do!
I''m planning on going on a Tuesday, so hopefully they will be attentive

Dani, do you mind telling me which ebay vendor you used to make your dress? It''s a route that I''m seriously considering, and your review sounds promising!

I am using Honey Bridal Store. They responded within 6 hours (they are from China but don''t let that scare you!) They were nice as can be and sent me lace sample pictures as soon as they were available. They priced the dress as well. They are making me a dress very similar to Maggie Sottero''s Angela and it will only cost me $220 shipped to my door. They told me it would take approximately a month to get to me and they are making it from scratch to my exact measurements. They even sent me a chart to input everything and showing me how to take them myself if I have to. They recommend you get the measurements done by a professional but my aunt sews so I should be ok.

I am perfectly happy with the service so far and if the dress turns out bad it is only $220 and I can always resell and buy one here. Good luck!

Thanks! I will definitely keep them in mind [:D] Do you mind giving me updates on how your dress turn out? Thanks!

I will!

I don''t know where you are located, but if you do decide to go to the Alfred Angelo in Brea, then you can go to the David''s Bridal in Brea. They are just a few blocks apart.
