Hi
OK, here is my dopey question
33.gif
- my wedding set is yellow gold, married 10 years ago when this was the norm. I know I can have them rhodinum plated and turned into white gold (that is my understanding??), CAN I ALSO, have them striped back to yellow gold when I dont want to have them white gold anymore?? IYKWIM

I would love to have them turned into white gold, but am hesitant as the original was yellow gold, so I want to know that I can revert back at a later date if I want to.

Is this feasable or practical??

Thanks

Yes, you can.

That''s not a dopey question! I''ve wondered the same thing myself and now we both know. Options!

I assume they just polish the rhodium plating off? I don''t have any experience with this other than understanding how they get the rhodium *on*.

I am wondering- would diamonds look different in yellow gold vs white? They must since they reflect some of the metal near them? Does yellow make them look whiter? Or will white gold make them look brighter?

I had my original set dipped in Rhodium and the diamonds look much whiter. But, they are only H-ish to begin with. So, that may have been why they looked less white when they were also pulling the yellow from the gold.

Also, on the stripping back to YG. I have a friend who dipped hers, and then 3 months later had them take it off. It looked exactly the same as before she dipped it. It looks perfect even around the platinum head.

I AM wondering if colorless diamonds look really white next to yellow gold now. HMMM.
