I just brought my ring to the jeweler today to size down from a 6.75 to 5.5 and redo the prongs because they were awkwardly large... and the ring looked great after I picked it up but it seems substantially lighter. Of course I did not put it on a scale before bringing it into the jeweler so I shouldn''t point fingers but could they have over polished the ring and therefore losing a large amount of gold? I understand that by sizing it down I lost gold but enough to fell the difference?

haha maybe i am just overly sensitive, but hey you never know, there are some bad jewelers out there...

It wouldn''t even be worth it to them.

maybe because of the way the ring sits on your finger is different now, (that was a big size difference) it feels lighter.

haha I knew i was being paranoid!! i just needed someone to tell me so hehee

The bottom of the shank is definitely thinner than before and therefore the ring feels top heavy. Thanks for your input Julie!

Is it platinum? I think even small size differences can probably be felt in platinum since it''s a heavier metal.

sorry I should have mentioned it before, it is not platinum, its actually 14kwg. the shank width is 5.5mm (at this narrowest)
