I keep seeing all these threads about color, size, clarity, etc. I recently bought a diamond and it looks fantastic. However, the more I look on this site the more I think i can find a better overall diamond for my price. It''s getting to the point where I''m about to go insane. I''ve had thoughts of dropping color or clarity to get a bigger sized diamond. I''ve looked at over 1000 diamonds (maybe more, but who is counting) and I''m almost to my boiling point. Should I just say screw it and be happy with what I got? Should I have a pricescope moderator ban me until my 30 day return window is void? Arghhhhhh

Could I have done better?

lol! That''s a bit drastic.

Everything looks just fine from the numbers. Did you happen to get an IS pic for it? Or have it independantly appraised?

And is this an AGS stone?

Just need to stop yourself from coming on here!

Ya, I think you should ban yourself, or even an IP addr ban so that you can''t even view this site. It is making you loony.

Buyers remorse is quite common (but rather frightening/depressing nonetheless), some reassurance is all that is needed.

HornAround -

your diamond buying journey caught my eye as my center stone in my ring is .83 with almost identical specs, except for being an F SI1. but everything else is basically identical!

i LOVE my stone! it''s GORGEOUS and none of my friends'' can match its sparkle.

i''ve been married quite a long time now, and recently my husband put new side stones with it (.46/.47 respectively - F VS1/VS2 - same specs as the center stone). it is a GORGEOUS ring and i''m adding a photo so you can see just how great it looks.

buddy - seriously - relax. this is going to be a fabulous ring! you said it yourself - the STONE looks fantastic - it''s only PS whch is making you doubt your choice.

it''s time to put your hands on the desk and push away from the computer....

NB this is with a 3.25mm wedding band - wider than the 2.5mm that most girls seem to be choosing these days, and even with the larger band it holds its own nicely. :)

welllllll without photos and aset/IS photos, I''d say you did well. The numbers certainly look great. Have you seen it in person?

I took some pictures tonight trying to document the arrows, now I just need to find the USB cord.

You said it looks fantastic.. it doesn''t matter what anyone else has as long as you think its the greatest.
I have a .78round F VS2 and i am completely in love with it. I love its birth marks and everything about it.Its the best in my opinion and for its price.

Absolutely right!

Horn...........you could do much better.......k, am just joking, couldn''t resist......I know how you feel. As soon as I bought mine I kept looking on here and then started wondering "can I do better?"........I stayed with my first choice and am satisfied. I keep lurking here because I am waiting for my ring to be delivered. One day soon I will push away from the puter.....maybe.

Thank you Whitby and Sunnie, It''s nice to see people really happy with similar rings.

Ellan, it''s a GIA diamond. I will get pics on here as soon as I can.

Rickster, Ha, I about returned it after I saw your first sentence! It''s a tough battle isn''t. Who would have thought buying a diamond would cause so much grief. I honestly thought I would just walk into a jewelry store and find something I liked. Blasphemy! Nothing goes without research, which is what led me here to pricescope and my virtual insanity......

Horn, you and I prolly bought from the same place, I think we are both in Houston, I had mine shipped to La. to save on the sales tax. Did you do the same? Your right, the first brick and mortar I went into I thought " their is a shiny diamond, how much, looks good..." almost bought it on first day, that would have been a mistake for sure.......

Here is a pic of the diamond. I did this in a hurry so it''s not the best pic. I will try to get pics in better lighting next time.

Damnit, for some reason I can''t get the pic to load.

Here we go. What do you think?

Well, I think I can''t tell much from that pic.

You need to get it independantly appraised if you haven''t. There''s no way for us to tell you anymore than we already have. Make an appt., today. So you can relax.

I agree you need to stay off here or start working on your next project. Maybe an anniversary gift

I think this is the best idea. Then you''ll be able to rest easy.

The appraisal is not what''s bothering me. I have no doubt that this diamond lives up to it''s characteristics. I''m just wondering if I can do better.

I don''t know anyone in La and I don''t know if it was worth it to have it shipped to some of my older family members (it''s not that I don''t trust them, I just didn''t want any obstacles). About the brick and mortar store, I still bought the band from them (which I kind of wish I researched a bit more, but I still like it anyway). I think the jeweler was kind of miffed at me for not buying their diamond, but I wasn''t about to spend that much without doing a little bit of research.

Thank you, I''m still trying to get a better picture with the right lighting. There are no inclusions and the thing shines like a star.

The stone and picture look great don''t make yourself crazy, just pop the question she will love it.

Thanks Mayer, it''s looking that way. I have one more diamond I''m looking at. If it doesn''t check out I''m going to get the damned thing set and be done with it.

Looks good.

Looks good. At ease now? :p

What is "better"? That's a rather subjective question.
