I placed my order for my new ring with JA last week and it should be ready (hopefully) by next Monday for shipment. In the meantime I am going absolutely crazy in anticipation.... What can I do to stay away from PS gazing at everyone''s rings for the 100th time until I get my ring? Yesterday I totally forgot about the laundry I left it all day and night in the washing machine and this morning I forgot about my get together with my gal pal until she showed up at my door with coffee and a donut and told me to "Step Away from the Computer!"

I am excited for you! Cannot wait to see it in SMTR! Now I''m crazy with anticipation!

Haha

We have all been there...done that.

You know you are really crazy when you keep refreshing your track my order fedex page online cursing why it takes so long to get from x to y. And you still look out the window every 5 mins in case the fed ex driver could be at your door or coming down the street. Even though you know full well it is still frigging days from being delivered.....

Yep that''s it! I told my dog that he''ll have to be confined to our yard for his daily walks until I see that Fedex truck in our driveway. He won''t mind either because the driver has dog biscuits.

ooh can''t wait to see it!! Have a manicure so you''re all ready for the photos when it arrives!

I already broke 2 nails today and had a manicure last week!

I just filed them all down. I''ll make sure to put on some clear polish before taking pics so my ugly nails do not detract from the beauty of the ring.

So excited for you, socool!!!!!

It''ll be our 20th anniversary this year. Just before we got married DH and I bought a house and al our money (except what we saved for the wedding and honeymoon) went towards the house, furniture, and appliances.

I had an engagement ring, but I didn''t have a real diamond (it was a cz). All these years I never realy thought much about it. DH and I upgraded our bands about 10 years ago and we both got bands with diamonds. Then a few years ago DH gave me a right hand ring 5 diamonds in middle with a bar of diamonds above and below set in white gold. Then last year he asked if I wanted a real diamond for my left hand and I said yes. He asked if I wanted to pick it out, etc. and I said yes.

It has taken me quite a while to decide what I wanted and really liked, so I believe I made the right decision for me thanks to all the wonderful help I received here on PS

RING ARRIVES TODAY!!!!!! It''s on the truck for delivery. I am acting worse than my 16 yr old. Don''t tell her!

Trying hard not to bite my nails....

I don''t think there are many of us in this boat, but I SO know how you''re feeling!!! I didn''t realize the story behind your new ring. Because of money issues, I also got engaged with a CZ center stone. My CZ was in the diamond setting that my lovely pear is still in today. But I guess it was almost four years after we got engaged and six months after we got married, I finally got my diamond. Boy did it look different and boy did I feel different and proud!! My head was reeling for at least the first few months I wore it. I couldn''t stop looking at my hand.

Tell us about your stone. I don''t know the details.

Gemgirl, when I first began looking for a diamond I went to the "maul" jewelers to see the various cuts of stone. At first I was particularly interested in radiant cuts and when I asked to see one they showed me an emerald cut. I went to several stores and some showed me emerald cuts and others princess cuts. This is when someone threw a brick at me and I realized maul jewelers Don''t Know Nuthin''!

I started my search on-line and realized that I should find a "bridal" forum/website. I first visited "the knot" and it led me here to PS. And I am glad it did. It took many months of research, reading the tutorials, reading the advice of so many of you experts; basically educating myself. It was then when I started to visit the more "upsale" (expensive) jewelry stores to look at settings, stones, etc.

It took almost 6 months for me to decide on the type of stone (RB) and setting. Then came the hard part, determing the color, size, clarity that would make me happy. The really difficult part was finding the "right" stone and After many hours at the pc and many notecards, and HCA calcs , IS images I found the one.

The ring is from James Allen 18kt yg round brilliant setting with 4 G/H sidestones and the center I selected was a J color 1.51 ct VS1 RB.

I just posted a thread in SMTR, but will have DH take some more photos later since I can''t get them big enough. In the meantime you can use your loupes to view the images
