Both look good. Depends on which upgrade/buy back policy you like better and who has the setting you like better?

As much as I love GOG, I would probably go with the whiteflash stone due to the placement of the inclusion in the GOG
stone and the slightly higher price.

Definitly check on who has the setting you want. They are both fully upgradable correct (should the need every occur)?

EDIT - hold the fort...I misread your post and thought the GOG was more. Ugh, that makes it a little tougher. Is the
GOG completely eye-clean? in all light? That could sway me to the GOG (I'm a thightwad). Sorry, not being much help
here am I?

If they're both eyeclean to your requirements I'd think you'd be very happy with either

so you'll have to choose by store policies/pricing

Both have excellent trade-in policies, so that is not really an issue. I happen to have a Towkowsky stone from GOG and ACA studs from WF. So I am certain both stones will be gorgeous. But I am clarity-sensitive, so I''d have to see them both in person to decide which I''d like best. I don''t think you can really tell from these pictures. What does GOG say about the inclusion on their stone?

Yeah, i saw the GOG stone and could not see the inclusion. However, when I called they said I should take a look for myself. I just am concerned that I may not have the best eyesight when it comes to diamonds. I could barely tell color difference.

I got an image of the WF setting. Looking for a tiffany knife edge in 4 prong (instead of the typical 6 prong) and loved WF''s - that is what is swaying me to WF. GOG was about 1300 but I couldnt see a finished product, as the 4 prong seems to be a custom job.

So I the comfort of knowing I will like WF may be worth the price.

Crazy, how the regular 4 prong platinum setting is like 500, but a knife edge pushes it up almost a grand.

i''m voting for the GOG stone. i like the crispness of it, i dont think the inclusion will be visible to you, and it''s a thousand bucks cheaper.

both gorgeous stones - both great vendors - but it''d be the GOG stone in this instance for me.

They''re both lovely stones. I vote to save $1,000 and go with the GOG.

It''s because the former is a stock casting and the latter is a custome setting they make themselves, most likely.

I say save the $1k. However, I would talk to WF about potentially pricematching or coming down in price if that is the only deciding factor and you like WFs settings.

diamondesq – Have Darren at GOG look at the diamond and tell you if it’s eye clean or not. I was looking at a couple different av cushions and Darren was very upfront about seeing a white spec on one SI1 cushion whereas Jon felt the diamond was eye clean. I don’t think Jon was lying to get a sale. The discrepancy had more to do with how good someone’s vision is compared to another.

Yes this is a good point. I am younger and near sighted and can fairly easily see inclusions that an *ahem* slightly older and slightly far sighted vendor could not easily see

I''d save the grand and go with the GOG stone!!!

thank you everyone! Especially stone-cold11, tyty333, yssie, diamondseeker2006, whitby_2773, Hest88, dreamer_dachsie, reggie, ImpatientOne, and Lorelei who all have taken the time to guide me and provide a second opinion on this and past threads.

Based on everyone''s advice, I ended up purchasing the WF diamond. I had an excellent experience with WF (and GOG), but felt from a purely psychological standpoint, the WF made my mind at ease and worth the extra cost. Additionally, I was able to view a few finished products of the WF ring on PS threads and photos sent from WF, and love the setting. Comparing the policies, for me, the wider selection of diamonds WF has, in the event I ever wanted to upgrade, swayed my decision to them as well. To be fair, GOG''s buyback policy beats WFs.

Before doing much research and coming to PS, I was looking at a F/VS2/Ex cut. After finding PS, I decided on a G/SI1/H&A type combo - and glad I did. Been targeting that combo for the past 6-8 weeks and finally found one that I have no second thoughts about. Although, for some reason, I continually look - guess its a hard habit to break when doing so for the past few weeks.

To everyone else out there, I found the past PS threads, current advice, and vendors (WF, GOG, BGD) all extremely helpful, price competitive, and honest. Three qualities very hard to find - and this coming from someone who is an attorney dealing with counterfeiting and IP enforcement on the Internet.

Thanks again all.
