Any thoughts on the 4 princesses in the video? I have eliminated number 2 (second from the left). Otherwise, specs are 2.5G VS2, 3I SI1, 3.15H VS2. All were ran and qualified as AGS0. I am having a tough time deciding between the 3 remaining ones...hoping for some help. Price difference of $10K between the 2.5 and 3.15 - the other 2 are very close in price. Thanks!

Wow, they are gorgeous, lovely decision to have to make! I know nothing about princess cuts and am sure the experts will give you their views but to my eyes the third one is the prettiest! Good luck with the choice.......

sounds like the 10k price difference isnt a big deal to you.
i personally like #3. it sparks the most to me.

I know nothing about princess cuts, but I also like #3. It seemed brighter to me with amazing sparkle. I also like #1 if you want to save money. Good luck with your choice!

#3!! Especially for 10k difference. #4 is nice too, but I love #3.

Price difference is $10K between first and fourth, third and fourth are $3K difference. I decided to cut number 1 based on size. So between 3 and 4....Here is a photo as well (the two on the right)

I like numbers one and 3 the best. With two being the worst.

I'm a newbie and only factored in what I could visually see in the video. Looks to me that the general consensus is 3, and I certainly agree.

From the video...order of preference
#4 - looks to have the best light return and faceting pattern to me...very clear and crisp
#3 - also very nice but not as nice as #4
#1 - last choice

Edit - from picture above
#3
#2
#1

Thanks! No need to edit from the picture to video - the picture shows in order (from the video) - 1, 3 and 4 - From the video number 2 was eliminated as a dud and number 1 was eliminated a short time ago due to size (2.5 just doesn't look as large compared to 2 3+'s!). For the 2 most right hand diamonds - the 3's, I am torn as the very right has such a nice faceting pattern and color - but the dark spot just above center is the only hold back for me...Really want to get this right for her!

The "Edit" was to note I was editing MY post to add the still picture order of preference.

Did you ask GOG if that dark area was always there? I dont really see it when Jon is holding them up with the gem holders.

I posed that question via e-mail this morning. Waiting to hear back. I am going to be having a call today or tomorrow morning to finalize. Right now I am leaning on 4. It looks good to me. Here is a link the spec sheet on it. http://goodoldgold.com/diamond/12615

I'm leaning toward 4. But 3 is nice too.

Pulled the trigger on 4 (3.14H VS2). Talked to GOG and no visible dark spots when just holding the diamond in regular setting (shadow/lighting problems in other picture).

Next step: setting design and creation (simple, focus on main stone with engraving/milgrain work - maybe a few channel set on the side). Very much appreciate all posts, tips and thoughts (and education)!

Will post final product in 4-12 weeks when I wrap this up - scheduling proposal for sometime December to March.

Nice, congrats :)

I've always liked the faceting pattern of 4 in Princess stones that I've seen!

Exciting! It's a lovely stone!

Thank you for taking the time to go through the selection in depth (and to all others that did as well)! I really do appreciate it - as one poster mentioned (and I did not take negatively) - price doesn't seem to be an issue - it is, I just feel that this is one purchase that could last a lifetime. I am going to let my car go to 200K miles instead of replacing - as I would rather look at her hand every day. For the guys - this is the one thing she will wear every single day and that you can look down and always be proud of and be complimented on. And you know what? It should be a little painful, gentlemen. It should. For me and my circle of friends it is a sense of pride the rings each have gotten their fiances (we all enjoy designing the settings in addition to diamond selection). Since I am the one who had PS help mine will CERTAINLY be the BEST! :) To the ladies - my personal opinion - your wedding will last a day, your ring may last a lifetime - put the money here!

Okay, sorry for the off topic rant.

Gypsy: You have posted to each thread that I have posted - so a special call out to you for always taking the time to be on here (it honestly is appreciated) - If I could throw a little wine party for each person who commented I would (if you're in SoCal, post back and I can make that happen). But, honestly, thank you. Your opinion is valued and appreciated.

My plan was to wait until March to propose in Napa (at our favorite winery) - we also want a Napa wedding - in that vein, the milgrain/engraving work will likely feature a grapevine pattern instead of traditional leaf - any thoughts/recommendations against? We met at a wine bar, are passionate about wine and it is a HUGE part of our lives - I thought that incorporation may personalize a bit more, no?

The grapevine thing could be pretty cool, almost Roman-esque, what with their love of wine and vines! :)
