I recently purchased two diamonds online to compare them, one from James Allen and one from Good Old Gold, and I have to say that I am extremely pleased with how customer service oriented both of these vendors are.
I was recently defrauded out of an item I sold on eBay due to PayPal''s misleading policies on seller and buyer protection, so I was very hestitant of making a much larger purchase online. It''s for this reason why I really appreciate the great lengths that they went to in order to provide me with piece of mind about these large purchases.
Jonathon at GOG is truly an expert at diamonds, and even took the time to provide detailed photographs and videos of the diamonds I was considering in different lighting environments, which you can''t even get by shopping locally! These were great to review multiple times, and was extremely helpful in making my decision. This is where GOG truly shines.
Jennifer at JamesAllen was also very informative. JA doesnt have all of the information on the diamonds that GOG has, but Jennifer did describe the diamonds I was also considering in detail, and was very honest about which one''s had visible inclusions and which one''s were eye-clean. She also handled my transaction from consideration to purchase, and like Jonathon was very professional and knowledgeable about her inventory.
I wish all vendors were as honest and customer-focused as these two vendors. Buying online can be intimidating, but GOG and JA made it an excellent experience.
If you''re hesitant about buying online, I would seriously consider talking to either of these vendors before making a purchase at the local jewelry store.
