Can someone please tell me why ExcelDiamonds.com and GOG both have the same diamonds listed on their websites but when I go to purchase one from Excel they always tell me the diamond has since sold but it is still listed as for sale in-house at GOG.

Is GOG buying Excel Diamonds and marking them up?

Because Excel has "virtual stones" that are not owned by either company, and then sometimes they get bought for actual inventory by GOG or another vendor who stocks in house stones. Nothing shady, just the way the diamond industry works because no store can really afford to own a ton of loose diamonds outright ya know?

GOG isn't buying stones from Excel, they are buying them from a distributor. Then GOG does ALL their work with them, idealscopes, pictures, etc. and then sometimes will "pre approve" them and buy them for their own stock.

Lately we will only spend all the time/expense of publishing the material if
a. A client covered the expense to have the products shipped in to see our lab results.
b. It was a diamond we weeded out amongst a business of diamodss we called in to consider purchasing for stock and examined it first before deciding to publish and did.
c. There was some educational reason I wanted to publish the material for future reference.

Poopers would only make it for reasons a. and c. and from time to time forget to get pulled.
