Hi Maggie: I had a makeup trial done for my wedding this past weekend. The makeup looked okay but melted off very quickly. If I accidentally touched my eyes it was smeared on my hand. I don''t think it would have survived on my face for a hot August wedding and then everyone hugging and kissing me at the reception.
If you can, go to a salon where you can try it first. It may work great on some people, I know it just didn''t work on me.
I use their pressed powder and I love it!! When I am in a rush, I just put it on over sunscreen and some gel blush and viola...I am good to go all day. I haven''t ever used any of their other products though.
I wish I would have used it for my daughter''s recent wedding though, because I didn''t like my MAC job.
I am having my second makeup trial in a couple of weeks and the salon uses Glo Minerals. My first trial was at an Aveda salon and the colors just weren''t showing up much on me. I am not sure whether I''ll like Glo Minerals - I have huge pores, and the Bare Minerals that I tried at home just made my face look really weird. But maybe if it''s a professional who''s applying it, that will make a difference. A lot of brides who used Glo Minerals at the salon I''m going to raved about it. We''ll see!
Thanks to everyone! I realize makeup is so subjective - everything looks different on different people''s skin.
Krissie - I have the same issue - really large pores and for some reason Bare Minerals looks horribe on me also. I look like I have frosted eyeshadow all over my face
I don't think Glo Minerals and BE have anything at all in common. I absolutely detested BE. I still have a worthless, used once, trail set that was a wasted $70. Blech. Hate the stuff on my skin. It made me look 25 years older. Blech, blech, blech.
The Glo Minerals powder I have is not illuminating at all. It's matte. It can look a little cakey when I first put it on, but once my skin oils blend with it, it is sheer heaven.
Trust me, the two products are not similiar. And the best thing about my Glo Minerals pressed powder is that it doesn't make me break out or clog my pores.
