Glammies new old cut round!

Well, I have a new baby! This little darling followed me home tonight! It does't have certification (we are a little behind in Australia and they are not certifying old cuts yet) but as luck would have it, I live extremely close (scarily so) to a very well known local valuer/appraiser whatever they are called. I never knew this person did that for a living, and we live VERY close! Weird. So tomorrow I will knock on her door and have a chat.

It is stated on the packet to be a H (but Diamond Guy says more like a G) and SI1, 1.18ct. I had a look with the loupe and could see a little bubble, and a tiny back spec. Totally eye clean (esp my eyes...).

So on spec at the moment, but it would have to be a terrible report for me to give it back!



(excuse the old wrinkly hands - I did mean to exfoliate and moisturise before photos but got too excited.)

I picked the diamond up at night, so had to improvise to get some light and used a torch sitting behind it. I have tried to get some shots outside on my hand, but I have such ugly man hands I am too ashamed to post them. Maybe I can photoshop them later.

I am going to make a ring probably something like Vatche 100 X prong.

What gorgeous faceting! Which appraiser are you planning to use? I used Kay and Helen Haddy and they were quite good, but I'd be interested to know if there are others in Perth with a knowledge of old cuts.

Hi ZL! Kaye is my neighbour, so bizarre. The Diamond Guy is writing down her address and I am saying, no that's my street, you have it mixed up! hahaha. I knew she was in jewellery but didnt know what she did. She has just phoned to say she is home, so off I trot!

I went to see Kaye and she confirms it is a good buy. It is as stated a G/H, and a SI1, but def eye clean. So all good! I had better pay for it now.

Alas, I had the little darling in my bag for less than a day, as she is now at the jewellers ready to be set... sigh...I miss her already!

It is my birthday on the 29th and I have pleaded to have them (wedding band as well) back by then. Apparently platinum takes a bit longer to make? So, I must be patient. But I did tell him there would be tears and it wouldn't be a good look. He was forewarned.

I got some artwork for the rings from the jeweller. I am so excited, they are exactly what I was wanting! Now I can't wait to be wearing them.
