You're very old fashioned. Or perhaps just old. "Dating" is very different now to what it was 25-35 years ago. Men don't ask women out to diner, pick them up in a car, ring the doorbell and meet the parents, and drop her off at home, kissing her goodnight at the door.
For me, group dates happened from a young age. I was a world of casual coffees, cinema with friends, putt-putt and bowling in the afternoons and evenings. I don't think I had a formal date with a man until I was in college and we had both saved up our pennies after dating a while and splurged on a fancy dinner together.
