Does girdle thickness matter with melee diamonds? If so what are the guidelines? As they are not certificated how can one tell a very thin girdle from a thin girdle?
I'd rather havve thin to medium than thick or very thick on small diamonds. Every time you see a diamond with a thick girdle, you are paying for "fat" that you cannot see or enjoy. It costs more per stone for heavy make stones. Those that are too deep or have heavy girdles are deceptive in that they are a bit less per carat, but weigh more than a crisper make stone. The net result is a better make is also a better value, in many cases.
