i notice on some reports where "keys to symbols" are listed some have more descriptions than others. For example i saw clouds listed on one with a little circle,while another report doesn''t show that. Do the reports only list symbols that are relevant to that specific piece?
Also are most gia''s laminated...hard to tell sometimes whether pinpoints are smudges on the paper sometimes.

Each stone is graded separately. If a stone has clouds, those will (generally) be listed. If a stone has pinpoints or feathers, those will (generally) be listed. Sometimes the report will acknowledge inclusions that are not plotted.

Take a look at GIA reports for IF or FL stones and they will either say "minor details of polish not shown" or "none" in the comments section.

As for not being able to see what is on the cert. You need to see the actual cert, not a photocopy or .jpg, in order to see where the inclusions are actually plotted. The actual certificates are usually very clear in pointing out the inclusions.

Also, the symbols are listed in order of importance. The first will be the grade setter...
