I have a cushion diamond I am looking at buying, the biggest thing that stuck out to me is that the GIA report date is 6 years old. How much of a concern is this?

Also, the depth stuck out as little high to me as well. The rest looked pretty good. I'm buying online so I've only seen a photo of the diamond.
1.00 carat
G Color
VS1 Clarity
Depth - 70.4%
Table - 62%

Any advice would be appreciated.

And in case anybody is curious, here is a photo of the diamond in question:

You always need to look at diameter measurements. That is what is hurt the most when a diamond is too deep (and I am not sure about your particular stone without comparing it to others the same weight). Post the diameter and we can compare.

And old report can mean the diamond has been sitting somewhere and hasn't sold because there are better ones, or it was priced too high, or someone bought it and traded it back in, etc.

Incidentally, I hope that is not the only picture they sent you. Because it is not nearly good enough to judge whether the stone is any good!

Here's an example of what you need to see. You really have to see a close up of the stone to see if the cut is pleasing. This 1 ct. stone has a depth of 65.9 and the measurements are 6.55 X 5.66mm. It's table is 54 which makes me think yours is a little large.

That's what they sent me, but they are sending the diamond for me to view in person so I should get a better idea when it arrives. Anything in particular I should look for when I get it?
