Hi,

Assuming the price is reasonable what do you think to this stone:

Gia xxx .71 E vs2

Hca 0.9, but I don't think this stone could but an ags 0.

5.73 - 5.76 x 3.54mm
Depth 61.7%
Table 55%
Crown angle 33.5 (shame this isn't 34.5 but I think 33.5 shouldn't be too bad?)
Crown height 15%
Pavilion angle 40.8
Pavilion depth 43%
Star length 50%
Lower half 80%

Girdle medium to slightly thick, 3.5%
No culet, no fl, laser inscribed.

Clarity characteristics in order:
Feather, cloud.

Not too keen on the feather and 33.5 crown angle, but I think it would still be a nice stone? I'm unable to get aset/idealscope or a magnified image of the feather location, UK vendors generally don't provide these. I think the feather should be ok since it's a gia vs2.

Gia report number: 1189334636.

Thanks for any input.

Ok think I am going to get this now... Any last minute advice lol?

Ended up being too busy to buy today, will get it tomorrow though if it looks nice in person/if you lot on here think it's worth a shot.

Any input welcome!

I don't know why you haven't gotten responses yet. Saturday, maybe.
I'm not an expert, but this stone sounds as though it will look great.
The HCA score is a winner, with the colorlessness and VS2 - think you did great. It will look very pretty.
My only suggestion would be that you could go to an F or G without seeing any color and save some $$ or find a slightly larger stone.
Personally I like VS2 and cleaner
and I would happily go to G color with a well cut stone.

Thanks for the reply :).

It's £3300 so approx $4950, that includes a 6 claw platinum mount. I think that's a reasonable price? UK tax (vat) is 20% and that's included too.

I just did a search [at the top of the page] and a comparable stone sells for around $3000+, so with vat - around $3600 plus your setting.
A 6 prong plat. setting from JA is [with vat] $1200 so it sounds as though you are right on target.

Obviously you've done your homework.

Are you using a PS vendor?
I don't know if they still give discounts, but you can at least save 5% by paying with a bank wire or check.

Thanks for the replies again. I am not using a PS vendor, don't know if there are any PS vendors in the UK?

PS vendors are online and some have stores too. I have not heard of any outside the US, but I don't know.

Is the ct size ok for you? Do you need a d color? I know it's an e, but I'd only buy an e if I was looking for a perfectly icy white rock without paying up for a d. You could drop down to I in color with some blue florescence and up in size. Stay with the vs2 clarity. I'd also look around to make sure the price your getting is within 10% of what's available to you. imho.

I'd look for larger stone with G-H color and eye clean sI1....I have a GIA H color and it is sooooo white I can't image what an E would be or cost...
