GIA polish and symmetry versus AGS

GIA symmetry and polish grades up to excellent, but AGS includes a top grade of ideal. Is it safe to say that GIA excellent polish/symmetry can be on par with AGS ideal but not necessarily, but an AGS ideal polish/symmetry is considered GIA excellent?

How can you tell if GIA polish/symmetry can compare to AGS ideal?

I believe per the definitions that they use for grading symmetery and polish that Excellent=Ideal. I am pretty sure they are defined the same, but perhaps I guess we will have to wait on someone else to confirm it 100% or you could look up exactly how they define it yourself, the info should be out there somewhere.
