Hello to everyone. This is my first post here and the first time I’m dealing with diamonds. I’m about to drop the question to my loved one and searching for a diamond was an exciting journey although frustrating at some points. After some research it comes down to these two diamonds graded by GIA.

The diamonds have the same price and I’m leaning towards Diamond 2 as it seems to have somewhat better characteristics. However I was wondering if Diamond 2 is discounted due to the medium blue fluorescence or due to its shallow cut. I’m not worried about the fluorescence however I’m not sure if the shallow cut has as impact on its visual performance. Its HCA score is excellent at 1.4 but I’m still cautious due to its shallow crown angle of 33⁰ and large table 60%. These make the diamond look bigger for the same carats but I’m not sure about its visual impact.
Diamond 1 has an HCA excellent score of 0.9 and it’s somewhat more standardly cut with a crown angle of 35⁰ and table 55%.
What is your opinion about these two diamonds?
Thank you for your time.

Both diamonds have excellent HCA scores and will be beautiful

I'm personally more attracted to D2 because of the Ex polish but I see your point about the larger table

Do you have any images?

By the numbers both are good combos but there is a lot the numbers don't tell.
In person they would look different from one another.
Ones a 60-60 the other is a fic to near fic.
Which do you prefer more brightness or more fire?

Unfortunately the seller isn't able to provide any pictures. I don't have any preference regarding brightness or fire. The setting is yellow gold with platinum 6-prong, like the tiffany setting. Would one of the diamonds be more appropriate for the specific setting?

Thank you

If these are the only two choices I would lean towards #2 only because I like a 60/60 type stone and it will face up a bit larger, however, buying with only the specs you have, please make sure you have a good return policy.

Either would be fine in that setting assuming that everything checks out for both that the report doesn't provide information on.
A good return policy is always a must have.
