I forwarded my story again for who is confused between GIA EX cut and HCA low point.
Thank you Lorelei!!

I was confused for my diamond because it has GIA EX cut but HCA shows only 4.9 (Buy it if you only think price!)
I was considering return it but my 10th anniversary is this Friday, no time!
So I follow Lorele''s advice.

I learned ==> CHECK YOUR DIAMOND with expert!
and
there was reason when GIA gives Excellent Cut Grade.

Can you post the crown and pavilion angles please? That will be the deciding factor, a nice 60 60 make ( 60% depth/60% table) can be an excellent choice if the angles are good.

Thank you.
Thanks! Unfortunately the angles are not a good combo and the pavilion angle is very steep which isn''t good, I would return this one, you can do better.

Look for another with crown angle between 34- 35 and pavilion of 40.6 - 41 degrees initially, table can go smaller if you like, say 54- 58%. Also with the cloud inclusions, it sounds like they are grade setters, I would be cautious as these can sometimes impact brilliance, always get a pro to check these.

Did you buy from Blue Nile?

Just let us know if you want any more help, the trouble with this diamond is it is unlikely to be a good performer, if you run it through the Holloway Cut Advisor here you will see for yourself.

If you like when you are ready to buy another, ask and we can find you some better ones if you still prefer to buy from BN we can find some nice ones there for you.

If I decide to return and buy new one, I will ask help from you.
This one looks brilliant to me but I don''t know how much it should be brilliant.
So, I will compare with others and make a decision.

Thank you!!

Ok sounds good, if there is a Jareds in your area compare it with some AGS0 cut grade called Peerless, also if there is a Hearts on Fire dealer near you take a look at those. That way you will be comparing diamonds of known cut quality to see how this one compares. Then if you see a difference we can look for a diamond with better proportions for you.

I visited one of HOF dealer shop.
She check my ring and said it belongs to AGS 0 cut grade.
Polishing and Symmetry was not best.
SO, the Performance is aroud 8.
I compared with other AGS 0, I couldn''t find difference.
I compared with Heart of Fire diamond, It was more beautiful and seems to be little bit better. But too Expensive^^.

I bought it $ 5,000.
The shop expert says if she sell it in this store, it will be aroud $7300.
I am satisfied with my diamond though it has somewhat large Pavillion angle and low point in HCA.
But there was reason when GIA gives Excellent Cut Grade.

Thank you for giving me a way to check the quality of Diamond!

Jek I am so glad to have been of help to you!
