Hello,
I found the following Diamond fairly priced, and I ultimately don’t really care if the color D is real or not as long as it preserve the structure of the Diamond and last forever.

ultimately I was more looking for a color around G but I found a “fake D” for the same price.

my questions are:

-1 : Are the process of changing the color permanent ? (I remember GIA didn’t grade enhanced Diamond so I was surprised to discover it)

2- What shall be the discount compared to a real Diamond of this characteristic. (I read online 30 to 50%).

3- Finally , with the GIA report can you tell if it will have fire, and not be cloudy ? On the photos, the diamond look bad, very hazy however they are clearly not here to show the beauty of the Diamond.

Would love to have your thoughts, excuse my English I’m french.

I can't answer your question about what the cost should be for this stone. I would say that I wouldn't buy a treated stone when you can buy a MMD for a similar cost that you stated. Just my opinion.

The cut on this stone is not that great. High crown at 35.5 does not pair well with high pavilion at 41. Can you get an aset or idealscope
image? That will show us any leakage.

I'm going to link you to the GIA page that talks about color treatments. It doesnt say much and from what I can tell, some are permanent
while others may not be as permanent.

You can not tell cloudiness from a GIA report.

Run the stone through the HCA tool to check on the cut.

You can use Bluenile to find a similar stone for a cost comparison

HTHP color improved diamonds are permanently colored and stable. Very few dealers handle them, but there is no good reason. It is a tradition based choice. Their re-sale value into the trade is next to nil. I can't change it. It is sort of dumb, but not everything or everyone is smart.

I doubt at VS1 it will be cloudy or problematic. It appears to be well cut. Compare it to an identical Lab Diamond for price and see what that tells you. You are the one to make the choice.

Basicly lab diamonds are “more” treated, but it is a matter of preference. I would not mind a treated natural diamond and would certainly not consider it less than a lab diamond.

IMO, Zippo! :silenced:
