If a GIA Certificate is dated April, 2001 - is that a problem - why would the seller have a Cert that old - it seems like it is a problem of moving the diamond for at least 2 years

Could mean several things and they aren't necessarily bad. But if you're concerned and really considering the diamond, have the seller regrade it.

It could also mean that no one wanted it at the price listed. What are the specs so we can hypothesize about the reasons?
