Newbie here. I just purchased some diamond stud earrings, which I love by the way. The problem is I received the Gia dossier certificates and one is a laminate copy and the other is a paper copy. Should I be concerned? Is the paper copy a fake?

They changed their format relatively recently although I don't know the exact date. 2013ish. The older ones are laminated and the newer ones are not. If you call them they should be happy to tell you. 800-421-7250. They're pretty cooperative.

You can check their online database at www.reportcheck.gia.edu for reports issued after 2005 or so and confirm that the data matches the report.
