Here''s my question: If the GIA cert on the bottom has a KEY TO SYMBOLS section, and it includes the symbols for "feather" and "extra facet", does it mean that the illustration above definitely has these two things in it?

Is it a big deal if the stone has an extra facet if visually it seems to be a beautiful gem?

Thank you!!!

Hi KT,

Those symbols are there to further illustrate
what certain inclusions mean.

What is the clarity of your diamond?

Thanks for your reply!

Here's the info:
polish - good
symmetry - good
clarity - VS1
Color - H
Fluor - none
1.09 Carat Brilliant cut

The cut and proportions are very very good, so it's really just this "extra facet" thing that i'm wondering about....

Usually a VS1 clarity should be harmless, and
the inclusions very small.

Extra facets are very common, and they may also
be very small.

You should have an expert check it out for you.

One more thing: characteristics are listed in order of importance; if the grade setter inclusion in a feather, then feather is listed for first, etc, etc...
Hope that helps
