I was wondering if it was normal to get a diamond appraised for specific attributes before buying the stone. The diamond (radiant) I''m looking at is GIA cert. but I want to know the crown height and pavillion depth, not just table and total depth. I am fairly sure the store doesn''t have Sarin, what should I ask for to get these dimensions certified? Should I ask them or another appraiser?

Thanks!
Colleen

Just ask the seller to obtain a Sarin or OGI computerized proportions analysis for you prior to purchasing the diamond...

Is this easy to do if they don't have the machine required to analyze with Sarin? Will they have to send the diamond out?

Thanks!

if they don't have the measuring device, they will have to send it out.

the sarin/ogi info is vital: no one on this forum can advise without these numbers. good luck. robbe
