If this is the stone you want and think it will fit the bill, enjoy!

yes. I made the comment several posts ago that grading is not an EXACT science and there is a HUGE incentive for a 3 carat RB to grade at an SI2 over an I1........who is to say it is really an si2? (And yes, diamonds and e-rings are loosely called investments but rarely are as true investments provide a return and usually people lose money when they sell them but 3 carat stone are not called "important" for no reason. Any stone over 2.5 carats is relatively important. That being said it is nice knowing that a diamond can bring quick and easy cash if it is a desirable stone.

We have to trust their grading at some point. This is what they do and they have nothing to gain by grading softly, since they are not a for-profit organization (like EGL).

I also asked about the history since it was mentioned earlier about the year of the GIA cert. in the forum and he's not exactly sure why his supplier still had this ring but my dealer said it could have been someone storing this stone during the peak season in 2011 when the diamond market was at it's highest so he could make the best profit on a 3ct ring but maybe it didn't move or it could have been a trade in of some sort but again these are all speculations.
I appreciate everyone's time and effort to chime in with their knowledge. I too was skeptical but everyone has made some great comments and in the end I just have to go with my updated knowledge and personal feelings if this is the right rock for us.
