Helllo All,

I have been doing a ton of research lately into the perfect e-ring. Everytime I would do a search on google I would end up here on the forum, so it dawned on me "wouldn''t it just be easiest to make post here and see what all the experts have to say?". So here I am.

Here''s the rundown on the e-ring, my girlfriend absolutely loves cushion cut diamonds with paved diamond inserts on the ring. Very similar to the Tiffany''s Novo ring. I would love to get her the Novo ring but for the price I feel like there is better options (plus I feel with Tiffany''s a good chunk of the price is for the little blue box.).

To make things a little more complicated my girlfriend has nickel allergy, which then rules out all metals except Platinum and Palladium. My first question is I have heard several differernt opinions on Palladium, one of the big box jewlers I spoke to said they decided to no longer sell Palladium because they were having so many problems with the diamond falling out of the setting. But when I talked to a different big box jewler the said they have had no problems with the settings and that its a great metal to use. What is everyones take on Palladium?

So I think I have settle down on the design for the ring, I went to a small family owned diamond gallery and feel in love with this Scott Kay Palladium setting Scott Kay ring (I tried to attach the picture too)

My second question is my girl friend has smaller hands her ring size is between 5.5-5.25 do you think this ring would be too large for her hand? I was looking at getting a cushion cut diamond between .70-.85 cts will this over power her hand?

Thanks for all the input!

There is really nothing to worry about in regards to as overpowering her hand.

Many people have palladium rings. Get insurance anyway. There are also gold/palladium alloys, instead of gold/Ni.

The size you want is fine for her hand, I wouldn''t worry about that, but just FYI, that ring looks nothing like the Novo in my opinion...I think there are better options if she has her heart set on the Novo look specifically.

I have a palladium ring that is great (not my ering though). I think it''s a good lower cost option, if you run a search on here there are TONS of threads comparing the metals.

Thank you for all the input, I''m glad to hear the diamond size will work out good. I''ll do a search and see what other people think of a good alternative to the Novo ring.

Whiteflash has a few that look much more like the Novo. Another one is the Ritani endless love.

No I do not think that it will over power her hand. Good for you for putting so much thought into this!
