getting new setting from whiteflash

i am planning to get either the x-prong or the w-prong from whiteflash for my princess diamond. What are you girls thought on these settings? Also, do you girls recommend sending the stone for them to set, or having them ship the setting and finding my own jewelrer?

very pretty setting. i''d have bought my diamond from WF but i found The One instead at my neighborhood jewelry store (an independent). from what i''ve read about diamond-hunters here, as long as you are going to get the setting from them, i''d just work with them on the search for your stone. it would be so much easier that way and i really don''t think you can go wrong with a WF diamond although there are several very good vendors that people like here. if it was me and i''d found the setting first, i''d just close the deal with Whiteflash.

I like the W-prong for the princess and the X-prong for the round. SOmething to do with the angles on the W_prong being sharper which mirrors a princess and the angles on the x-prong being more ''swoopy'' (technical word!) which mirrors a round.

I too would go with WF if you want a setting from them. I don''t know if they sell settings separately anyway?

i already have a e-ring, i am trying to upgrade my ring by changing the setting because i didn''t like the old setting. So yeah they said they would sell me the setting but i have to mail them the stone or find a local jeweler to put it on. The thing is it costs extra $ to ship it because of insurance and all.

I agree with angeline about the swoopy part, i thought that the x prong looks better with the round as well. SO i am leaning more towards the w-prong.

I still like the vatche setting too.
